Bruh that was straight out of WWE’s old playbook so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Chris’s idea.

The whole thing makes me physically ill. Jericho has unsubstantiated sexual assault allegations thrust upon him by a bullshit merchant, the bullshit merchant admits he did it in order to win a Twitter spat, and people boo him so much that they have to play Judas nonstop in order to drown out the boos. Less than a half hour later: Ric Flair, who has a history of sexual assault allegations including one of his accusers appearing on camera and telling her story as to how he sexually violated her, gets lots of cheer and wooing from the same crowd that booed Jericho earlier.
Wrestling fans suck.

Anyone who says they care about sexual harrassment/abuse shouldn't be cheering Flair.

It sucks because I think, borderline objectively, Jericho acted creepily toward a much younger coworker and made her feel uncomfortable, and he probably deserved to get some level of backlash for that. But, the way this has all disingenuously snowballed in the name of winning a social media battle for CM Punk has kind of placed me firmly on the side of sympathizing with Jericho in the situation. It was 5 years ago and, apparently, the chronically online wrestling fanbase has just accepted at face value that Jericho is a Harvey Weinstein-esque sex pest when there's genuinely no actual evidence at all that he's ever done anything even approaching that galaxy.
Sure, boo the guy if you're bored with his schtick, fine. But, chanting "NDA" at him and constantly berating every single AEW social media post (and this isn't me arguing against straw people on other forums, I'm bringing this up because it's what we are explicitly talking about in this thread) with comments like "when are you gonna do something about Jericho?" is beyond the pale.

I think it’s people acting like something’s being swept under the rug. Like… what is? Someone liking tweets and stuff from 5 years ago? There’s nothing much anyone can go on nor anything people can address. And it’s affecting the product in a way that addressing it won’t do much good because, again, nothing to address or take Jericho off TV for. Like, hey, if people want me to be annoyed about what Jericho did, someone needs to tell me from an eye witness about what Jericho actually did first. Instead, as others have said, we’re supposed to assume something (even if there’s a chance it happened and it’s not me ruling it out) just because people online believed as much. It’s all sad for those actually being affected by anything that happened. Booing Jericho but cheering Flair is ridiculous. Cheering Flair at all is ridiculous and shows that the crowd reaction has nothing to do with the allegations at all. Anyone who says they care about sexual harrassment/abuse shouldn't be cheering Flair. Like…we know what happened with Flair. There was a Dark Side of the Ring about it. There were others saying stories. And he still has work for reasons any of us can’t understand.

But we can't prove anything, so then I feel like a hypocrite. Then I remember that there's at least some sort of activity that suggests something bad went down. But still, we don't have anything concrete. The way Hausman went about all of this really, really sucks. I'm just worried that in twenty years when the books are written that include guys like Chris that we might read some bad shit that substantiates some of the smoke we've seen lately. I hope that's not the case.

The way Hausman went about all of this really, really sucks. And that's the worst thing about it, it puts most people in a flux of either being mad at something that didn't happen or ignoring something that absolutely did and there's no way to say either way because the way Hausman put it out there is frustrating and demeaning to those who may or may not have been affected. Agreed. Like, ideally, I'd rather have answers now but either nobody's willing to talk (understandably for many reasons) or it's much ado about nothing which helps nothing and nobody. I also don't mean to be going outside of the topic but man, this is such a black cloud that unlike other situations, has literally no answer of how to rightly deal with it.

This is legit why I absolutely despise online mob justice.
Hausman took a shot at Jericho and got the facts VERY wrong so now anything that Jericho might have been held accountable for is suspect.

I can't wait till Stings last match because hopefully it means Rics fossilized ass isn't out there anymore Same. I can't say I was ever a fan even when he could walk and talk properly and before I knew he was likely an abuser. I know Tony's a big mark for the guy but he adds nothing and I feel more than a bit uneasy every time he's on screen. He's literally the only person I've ever fast forwarded the product because of. Side note, thought them keeping Judas playing last night was smart, because it's a song fans always want to sing along with anyway it didn't feel all that unnatural, actually more surprised they'd never really done it before when he's done a run in.

I bought a Flair funko pop...am I a bad person now? I mean, no? I don't think anyone begrudges anyone for choosing to separate the art from the artist, so to speak, and Flair is unquestionably one of the GOATs in the weird world of wrestling. The only relevancy that would have to this topic is that you'd be a little bit of a hypocrite if you also chanted "NDA" at Jericho, booed him, and called for his job based upon unsubstantiated and seemingly embellished allegations.

I think playing the music like that was a really bad decision by AEW considering how the crowd sounded.
I can see trying to get ahead of the bullet and blasting the music if you're that worried but from what we can tell, the accusation was not true and the crowd only booed for a second or two when 'Judas' hit. By playing the music you are doing the most WWE thing possible by drowning out the fans but also making a situation worse that doesn't need to be made worse by putting even MORE attention on it. From what it looks like the guy didn't do anything and now the conversation will continue. I really wish they had not done that.

And look, not to defend Jericho or anything, but it seems clear that when Hausman said that he was looking for more stories to come out. The Weinstein comparison was made by him. And thus far, his fishing attempt did not lead to any people coming forward with stories about Jericho. That doesn’t mean Jericho never did anything wrong with Kylie Rae or anyone else. But weeks have gone by and we have no more incriminating info against Jericho.
