I can't wait till Stings last match because hopefully it means Rics fossilized ass isn't out there anymore. Tony Khan fell for the same tricks that TNA, ROH and WWE have all fallen for in the past. They give Flair a lifeline, he messes up and faces little or no consequences. This will be remembered as an all-time AEW blunder. Nah, right now it’s just eye roll inducing and cringe. It won't reach all-time blunder levels until they try and stick him in actual match. Which I don’t THINK AEW will be dumb enough to do, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility.

It's only an all time blunder if it effects the company in places that matter. Publicly the crowds love him, his Woo Energy hasn't seemed to deter anyone, ratings haven't really changed when he arrives on the scene I don't want him here, we don't want him here for sure, but they got Flair for essentially nothing so they didn't even waste money on getting him. Currently Jericho is getting all the heat for a false narrative that was spewed at him online while Flair gets nothing but respect and cheers... it's what makes the wrestling community so frustrating, I WISH this could be blunder so they could just get rid of him, but no audience is going to boo him, so he'll persist, hopefully not around very much after Sting leaves, until I pray his contract just runs out.

No! The last thing that needs to happen is for Hausman to get any kind of recognition nor publicity. Just let him be as obscure as possible. I didnt mean Jericho saying his name but just calling him "a doofus who is part of the Pepsi federation" something along those words, staying silent so far doesnt seem to be working for Jericho.
But then we’d be bringing up something that, again, is just a guy saying shit. And you can’t be cutting a promo on every guy who said shit or else Seth Rollins would have cut a promo on Will Ospreay in 2019 after their Twitter spat and countless other things that are just people saying shit. Which goes to my core point, you can’t address every thing someone says that doesn’t have much to it or else wrestling companies would be full of responding to the comments of podcasters and hasbeens. Unless we’re prepared for wrestling’s version of Secret Base’s Beef History series.

True, but I also didn't think they'd hire the guy outside of a couple Sting one-shots but here we are looking at 20ft Woo Energy ads every week.

This is legit why I absolutely despise online mob justice. Hausman took a shot at Jericho and got the facts VERY wrong so now anything that Jericho might have been held accountable for is suspect. I've only just got back into wrestling so don't know too much about the situation but didn't Kylie Rae heart react to the tweeted allegation suggesting that she agrees with the allegation?

The person who made the tweets came out saying there was nothing substantial about them, just reacting like everyone else. Kylie reacting to these could any numerous things ranging from she supports people in those kinds of situations, she finds Jericho an asshat and wouldn't mind seeing someone take him down a notch, to theories being correct and he did come on to her. The problem is, trying to read into her reactions is dangerous without any sort of context, otherwise we get situations like this.

I've only just got back into wrestling so don't know too much about the situation but didn't Kylie Rae heart react to the tweeted allegation suggesting that she agrees with the allegation? She didn’t acknowledge or react to anything Hausman said at all. The chain of Tweets she reacted to basically alleged that Jericho brought her to his locker room under circumstances where she thought others would be there, but she was alone, and it made her uncomfortable enough that she left the company. That, or something close to that, probably did happen given her reaction to the Tweets. And Jericho putting a much younger coworker in that position is scummy behavior, especially given his overall stature in the company and the industry. He should be reprimanded for that. But Hausman compared him to Harvey Weinstein, so every single person who has only read the sensationalized headlines just assumes he’s been accused of being a serial rapist, which isn’t remotely true even if you accept the absolute worst version of the Kylie Rae “rumors” as valid. Hausman was basically banking on other people coming forward to corroborate what he was saying, and no one ever did. Again, I’m not trying to endorse 50-year-old Jericho probably being a creep and making his 27 year old coworker feel uncomfortable, but the reaction to him as compared to people like Ric Flair, JD McDonaugh, Matt Riddle, Ric Flair, Darby Allin, etc… all of whom have been accused of way worse behavior than Jericho is really jarring and that’s what people are discussing in this thread.

The thing, too, is that her liking tweets doesn't put weight into anything. As Zone said, there are several different factors towards liking a tweet to the point we've had several controversies judging people by the stuff they like on Twitter which can be a show of character but sometimes it can be something someone can relate to at that time and the reason I'm putting it on that level is because nothing's come out about it. It's at the level of a wrestler liking a tweet saying they deserve better because we don't have the context or mindset of that person who liked it.
Hausman's still on Twitter trying to act like he did something and judging Jericho and AEW's every move involving this when the likely reason people like Sean Ross Sapp or others haven't either heard anything or put anything out might be because he's made it harder for those people to say something. For all we know, he could be Harvey Weinstein, it could be something much bigger than we've seen or can figure out but nothing's happened and Hausman's done nothing about it except say he used all trudging up potential trauma from people for settling a grudge.

The thread of Tweets she put the heart at the end of included the very specific accusation around Jericho and her. For the whole 'well it could mean anything/be a misunderstanding'... Chris Jericho is being crucified for this. It's significantly damaging his reputation and career. Why wouldn't he/AEW have contacted Kylie to take it down or explain that it doesn't mean what people think it does? This has been going on for weeks now. I'm not saying he deserves to be a pariah based off little information. But this situation isn't as simple as some are making out.

I'm not saying he deserves to be a pariah based off little information. But this situation isn't as simple as some are making out.The bolded part is accurate but not for the reasons you're saying. Mostly because we don't know the context for the entire situation. We don't know if there's an NDA, we don't know if there's a trigger for an NDA to be breached, we don't know if interacting with Kylie will have her have a breakdown or if it'll set off something where AEW is in trouble for damages. Hell, we don't know why Kylie liked the tweets, people can like tweets for any reason and for all the people out there being like "Well, clearly that means _______", there's nobody stating an answer. So AEW going out of its way to be like "Take down those likes" has no basis of it happening because there's no other story to go off. Like, again, if Hausman reported on Kylie's behalf or a story came out from him with cases of this happening, this would be an entirely different ballgame. There would be reason to think certain ways about people, Twitter likes would have context and AEW would be forced to send Jericho home because there would be a reason to investigate. The key thing right now is there's nothing solid to go on to continue anything which makes this whole thing a complete mess. People can only say so much because there's only so much. I don't mean to be repeating my points but there's no other points to repeat because there are barely any points there. Because nobody has the right or the moral authority to make her do that. It's disrespectful as all get-out and doesn't support victims. And right after I posted that, you summarized it all better.

I am SO tired of this Jericho stuff at this point. The discourse is so exhausting all because one jackass decided to fish for SA accusations towards Jericho without any sort evidence and then everyone and their brother has tried to read tea leaves of Kylie's likes and a frigging heart emoji.

Honestly simply being New Jack might be just the thing to refresh the Jericho character. I still wish he wasn't in a title picture right now, but they did kinda tied their own hands together with the Golden Jets thing.
I just hope Sammy gets out of this program with some momentum. All he has to do is not brag about f***ing on top of belts and he'll be good in my book.

I'm extremely bored of it, yes And frankly, the fact that this is going on as long as it has in a promotion with Darby and Ric, and compared to WWE who could start an entire sub-promotion with all the accused people on their roster, is making me just kinda hate the wrestling fanbase at large outside of this forum

This is presuming a world where Jericho is innocent and Kylie's likes have been misinterpreted. In which case... yeah I think it would be fair enough to ask if she'd make that clear and stop the guy being hounded. And in that case, Jericho himself would be a victim of something very serious and deserve support. Personally, it seems fairly obvious that isn't the situation here. But people can make their own minds up. It doesn't seem remotely sustainable for AEW or Jericho to carry on as they are though.

Nothing has been said by anyone outside of an exceedingly unreliable source from 5 years ago. There isn't really a case for Jericho to be "innocent" of. Which leads us into... If there's nothing to really address or claim for, this isn't them riding it out as much as going on business as usual because nobody has a reason (outside of crowd reactions) to address it. Which is the issue, again, with trying to throw stuff out there without the care and reporting that'd go into it. And then this thing keeps going in circles and we keep trying to presume there are grounds when there are no grounds but people want to think they're grounds for various reasons so...yeah.

There is also a lot of evidence in the last 10-15 years or so of addressing false things giving the source legitimacy even if it's 100% BS. Can't get into it more than that, but there's a ton of recent examples of it in politics alone.
Even if Kylie went on Twitter and said outright "Jericho never did anything sexually coercive towards me," the same chuckleheads pushing that narrative would pivot to something else like "Tony Con paid her off to lie about Jericho" or "AEW got Christian Cage to send his Malaysian hitmen to threaten her life if she didn't clear Jericho's name." Because these people don't actually care about the truth, but things that confirm their narrative, whether that's in wrestling, current events, or life in general.

One of the cornerstones of the company is being booed out of every building with a noticeable chunk of people chanting at him that he's an abuser. To the point they are piping in his music to drown it out. That's pretty unprecedented and a good reason to address it. I don't really get the 'well if you address this you'd have to address every random internet rumour' idea. No, but you probably should do something about the ones that are impacting the life and career of a (presumed) innocent man. Again, that's if there's nothing at all to this and it's just a malicious rumour. It just surprises me that, in that instance, nobody involved would be bothered about protecting Jericho's reputation.

One of the cornerstones of the company is being booed out of every building with a noticeable chunk of people chanting at him that he's an abuser. To the point they are piping in his music to drown it out. That's pretty unprecedented and a good reason to address it. But I've asked this so many times in these threads and I'll ask it again; what is being addressed? What new stuff has come to light in the last 5 years would be worthy of addressing at this point? There isn't anything that's come out to cause any need to address anything except the crowd reactions. We're not talking about a new Dark Side of the Ring or a random Netflix documentary rekindling a subject. There's nothing new here except to remind people it's out there. If there is something else I'm not seeing or other people aren't seeing, I'd very much like to know at this point because we're talking about a decades long career that could be hindered by the revelation he did something "worthy" of what Hausman said. And in terms of Jericho's rep? Like, if a story comes out, that's when the concern should come in. Like Cyno said, you'd end up just making people think there's something to it if it's brought up, like AEW are actually covering it up or there really is an NDA.
