The whole thing makes me physically ill. Jericho has unsubstantiated sexual assault allegations thrust upon him by a bullshit merchant, the bullshit merchant admits he did it in order to win a Twitter spat, and people boo him so much that they have to play Judas nonstop in order to drown out the boos. Less than a half hour later: Ric Flair, who has a history of sexual assault allegations including one of his accusers appearing on camera and telling her story as to how he sexually violated her, gets lots of cheer and wooing from the same crowd that booed Jericho earlier. Wrestling fans suck. I think the more online type of fan (AEW more than WWE nowadays) are just over Jericho in general and now this is an excuse to go all in on him. That doesn't make it right, because this being the jumping point to booing the guy is kind of disgusting No one was booing him before on shows to this large of a degree, this is exactly what caused it and exactly why it's continuing.

I think playing the music like that was a really bad decision by AEW considering how the crowd sounded. I can see trying to get ahead of the bullet and blasting the music if you're that worried but from what we can tell, the accusation was not true and the crowd only booed for a second or two when 'Judas' hit. By playing the music you are doing the most WWE thing possible by drowning out the fans but also making a situation worse that doesn't need to be made worse by putting even MORE attention on it. From what it looks like the guy didn't do anything and now the conversation will continue. I really wish they had not done that. “Frankly the fans can react however they want; Thats what’s great about AEW Wrestling & pro wrestling: We’re not trying to tell people what to think” - Tony Khan

Didn't like it. Way too manipulative. If you're that worried about the reactions he'll get, keep him on standby.

Unless Tony is going to side line Jericho, which seems unfair since that feels like you're punishing him for something, I don't know what they can do right now. Seems like Jericho and Omega were supposed to play a big part with Big Bill and Starks and now it's him and Sammy now.

Easiest thing would be letting Jericho cut a promo after BOTB is over and bury Hausman and his followers unless there is some truth to what he said OR they dont want to make him relevant...

It would also be the wrong thing. Honestly I would have him gone for a few months, come back heel and see how it goes from there. His character needs a bit of a break anyway

No! The last thing that needs to happen is for Hausman to get any kind of recognition nor publicity. Just let him be as obscure as possible.

I didnt mean Jericho saying his name but just calling him "a doofus who is part of the Pepsi federation" something along those words, staying silent so far doesnt seem to be working for Jericho.

I find the idea of "This is a convenient excuse to boo him" to be just as repugnant, honestly. Not you for presenting it or anything but the very real situation on how people are trying to use serious shit to back up petty nonsense. It cheapens everything about some very serious and ugly things just to settle scores and it puts the people engaging in it for that reason in the same zone as Hausman trucking it out to win a twitter argument. And it makes cheering Flair look even worse because instead of being selective about who they dislike and all of the complicated psychological factors therein, they just don't really care in the first place. I'd rather hypocrites than people who are willing to pretend to care about something only to milk it for their own purposes. Anyone using this as an excuse is on some slime shit.

Saying something won't work either since it'll just inflame the situation and make things even worse. And if he says something, he'll be giving credibility to Hausman and the nonexistent accusations against him.

Huh didn’t consider reasons why it was done tbh? I kinda figured the Jericho thing had been, well not settled but that most people had figured something maybe possibly there but what it was and how serious it was (or wasn’t) was the issue so was going to fade away
I just thought it added something cool to the street fight hype and quite liked it

Yep, I certainly don’t agree with it but I’d imagine that’s why the treatment is like that for Jericho right now.

I don't mean this forum, but if you look at the posting histories of the people on reddit who are going after Chris the most, they have the weirdest and creepiest posting history. The people who stand on their morals the most, seem to have the least amount of morals when it pertains to their own personal lives. I remember looking at the post histories of people trying to cancel the Bucks after a weird photo credit incident, MULTIPLE people were also regularly posting in jailbait subreddits. Like, holy heck.

It is definitely worth saying that this forum is BY FAR the the most level headed and non toxic place to discuss wrestling right now. There’s like actual discussions here, not just the weirdest people you’ve ever seen making bizarre posts against whatever company or wrestler they hate.

Yeah, and the reason I even bring up how toxic other places are myself is to HIGHLIGHT how nice this place is by comparison It is absolutely abysmal to discuss wrestling other places right now. Anywhere. Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, etc, even other forums! They're awful. I haven't found a place as level headed as FAN, especially in the current climate we're in and how tense stuff seems to be.

I can't wait till Stings last match because hopefully it means Rics fossilized ass isn't out there anymore. Tony Khan fell for the same tricks that TNA, ROH and WWE have all fallen for in the past. They give Flair a lifeline, he messes up and faces little or no consequences. This will be remembered as an all-time AEW blunder.
