Im tired of the GM thing.
I would rather them just appoint a Commissioner again, and have him in charge of both brands. They can still have brand rivalries and Bragging Rights if they want. Just as long as they dont do the EVIL GM thing anymore and have the Commish more of a neutral figure.

I think this is the type of feud that doesn't really need to be built around a title. In fact, I think it would benefit a lot more from being built around personal issues.
If Jericho vs. HBK feud had been about nothing but the WHC and mutual dislike, it wouldn't have been very exciting.

Fans would love to hear Joey Styles on commentary one last time, so naturally, it won't happen. Christian doesn't really need the win at this point in his career, so I'd like to see EZ Kill Jackson get the biggest win of his career and possibly be the last ECW Champion. Also, I officially request that next week's live thread be titled "They Can't Be 1st, but They Can Be NXT!" It depends on what they are going to do with the title. If they are retiring it, Christian may as well be the final champion. Its a more impressive boast than would be Zekes "I was the final ECW Champion!...for one night." That wouldn't do anything for Zekes career IMO. If they are planning on continuing with the title it would make sense to have Zeke win it and be pushed that way while Christian moves on to bigger things.

JR is one of the all time best.
King sucks now, but JR is still great. He makes some mistakes but so does King, at least JR still adds to the product and is entertaining.

Meh, kind of seems like a waste, it's not really benefiting anyone in the long-run like it would with a younger talent winning. It's a pretty cool idea, though. Not everything has to be about benefitting the younger talent. This would be a cool Wrestlemania moment. I would support it. MITB can be used to elevate someone, but its not like someone such as John Morrison needs MITB to break into the main event. All he needs is a great main event program with someone like Jericho. If anything the whole MITB thing is stale. One of the last things they have left to do with it is have someone cash it in AT Wrestlemania. Sitting through another few months of the whole WILL HE CASH IT IN thing would be very tiresome to me.

At least TNA actually used him. WCW paid guys more money than Lashley probably got to just sit at home.
All wrestling companies waste money. Its the nature of the business. At least all he was given in TNA was a few wins and nothing of any real note. WWE probably wasted a lot more money on him, in all honesty. His heart just isn't in pro wrestling.

Are we really complaining about Rey going over people?
Rey, the weakest booked WHC in history?

He could be, yes.
For whatever reason though, WWE doesn't want to go with it. I dont see them suddenly changing their tune.

There was nothing wrong with Survivor Series. The problem was that they started building the PPV around random title matches instead of the elimination tags that people initially cared about. Ideally the show would be nothing but teams and maybe 1 main event for a title with a decent storyline behind it. Exactly. Survivor Series was built around that concept. Just as Hell in the Cell is built around that match. If after this year HIAC started having no Cell matches at all some years, or mostly random Cell matches that have nothing to do with the main programs or titles the same thing would occur. Thats why I dont see a point in changing the PPV. Why not stick with the history of the name if you can make the PPV whatever concept you want? Survivor Series stopped being Survivor Series a long time ago. Its not much of a concern to me though, WWE have crapped all over so many things in the past few years that I wouldn't even care if they renamed Wrestlemania at this point. They have lost the plot.

WWE can change PPV names and use terms like "conceptual pay per view" or "rebranding" all they like. It wont change their writing, which is the problem. Not what the PPV is called.
I fail to see how the concept is outdated. Do teams of wrestlers never fight for anything anymore? This is just more WWE corporate speak. I could just as easily say "wrestlers fighting in a cage to leave through a door is a trite, outdated concept. From here on, we will not be having any cage matches" and that makes just as much sense.
The times when they actually bothered to book Survivor Series correctly and make it mean something, it was an exciting PPV.

I highly doubt they were really doing anything wrong. Unless you think they are dumbasses just for drinking.

Notes on selling...from a guy with the MCMGs in his signature. Weird. Didn't they sell it as Cena laid on the outside taking as much rest as he could and then used that bit of energy to get back in the ring? Who cares what the announcers said? They cover for plenty of mistakes, including botches and punches that clearly miss. Obviously Cena was supposed to be using his last bit of energy to get in the ring, but it looked completely fake and stupid. I will give Cena credit when he deserves it but he that .gif looked laughable. MCMGs can no sell an atomic bomb and Cena going from injured to suddenly sprinting to looking dead again would still look moronic.

My point was that it's the mark of a great heel when he can make even the smart fans hate himself. I don't see someone like Orton being a great heel, since he gets regular face pops from the crowd. And Jericho, for example, is beloved by the IWC so he's not a great heel. Heels are hated. Plenty of guys who are amazing heels are loved by the IWC. So they are not great heels now? That is the same logic as me saying Cena is not a good face because most of the IWC hates him. At any rate, JBL is NOT the last great heel. Edge went Rated R after JBL. Ortons rise was after as well. Maybe Orton is a stretch but I would put Rated R Edge and SRS Jericho at the same level for sure.
I am getting a bit weary of people judging how good a heel is on if he gets cheered sometimes. Just because they get cheered every once in awhile doesn't mean they arent good at playing the heel. The nWo got cheered pretty often along with booed. Were they a subpar heel stable?

I am not sure why people are yelling that this is NEWZ or that there is no way it could ever happen.
Lets assume this is all true. As far as WWE bookers are concerned, between Cena vs. Batista and Taker vs. HBK II along with most likely Bret vs. Vince [or some sort of match involving them and their angle ala Battle of the Billionaires, not necessarily them wrestling], that is all enough to sell WM.
The only thing I would have a hard time believing is if this news said HHH vs. Sheamus is a lock for the main event, final match of the evening. I dont think even WWE are deluded enough to try and pull that.
As a somewhat throwaway title match nestled between some bigger matches on a stacked card, I believe it though. It really goes with the whole "most forgettable WWE Champion ever" gimmick that Sheamus has going for him.

Brocks rise and reign is a textbook example of how to book a great wrestler to his strengths and get him over.
Sheamus reign is a textbook example of hot shotting someone who isn't ready and then booking him as an afterthought.

Every town has a gym and most of them would just let a wrestler come in and use the facilities for free. Lots of hotels have workout areas too.

Considering the biggest WWE storyline right now, and probably in years, is Bret Hart returning...Dibiase doesn't have any room to speculate on Hogans name value or TNA using old wrestlers for nostalgia value.
Lets face it. Both companies have been largely ineffective at pushing new stars or building young guys up to be big names. Both of them have a few guys and they are mainly the type like AJ, Cena or Orton who were too talented to not end up main eventers.
When it comes to either company nurturing young guys who have potential which needs to be realized they have both stumbled. Which is why I dont watch wrestling anymore.
We have the old guard like Undertaker, DX, Nash and Hall, etc. who have already done everything they can do and are now just treading water involved in storylines that are 200% less interesting than the stuff they were doing ten years ago.
Then we have the new guys who mostly have to serve as supporting characters even when they have championships, arent allowed to develop or show any clearly defined personalities and rarelyare involved in any sort of angle with more depth than "you attacked me from behind during a match" or "I won a number one contender battle royal and now I want your title!"

Who cares? They took the belt off of Cena and put it on a totally new guy. This shows that they're willing to take risks and yet, people still give them hell for it. It's crap like this that has ruined wrestling. They arent taking any risks. A risk would be something like Sheamus beating Cena clean, feuding with Cena and winning, then going on to hold the title for a good while. Complaining fans dont have any control over booking or what we see on TV. They deserve the blame for the state of wrestling today? Hmm. Okay.

I am saying that he hasn't shown anything onscreen, which is where it counts. Maybe he is great backstage, maybe HHH, Vince, and the road agents all see something in him, sure. Those guys arent buying tickets and PPVs though. A guy like Lesnar got pushed quickly but was pretty much immediately showing how special he was by doing amazing things in the ring and getting crowd reactions. Sheamus has done neither. I dont really care is the guy shows dedication to the business or not if he hasn't entertained me. As a fan, that stuff means nothing to me. I am not even talking politics either. If Sheamus kissed HHHs ass and politicked his way to the belt but was as gifted and entertaining as Lesnar was I would be HAPPY. If MVP or Kofi politicked their way up the ladder it would be a GOOD thing. I know that's what you were saying, and just because Vince et al don't buy tickets - the point is that they know why people buy tickets. It's their business. Vince in particular is a marketing genius, it's why he has been so successful. Marketing is all about identifying a customer's need and satisfying or exceeding their requirements. Vince knows exactly why people come to the arena when he's in town, and he will know whether or not Sheamus has the qualities to be a success. I don't know what Sheamus needs to do for people to stop saying that he 'doesn't get crowd reactions' because he clearly does. And what do you need him to do in the ring for him to show he is good at what he does? He's a power wrestler, he does power moves, and he does them well. And people do react to him. Just because Vince knows the business doesn't mean he is infallible. He was almost put out of business by Bischoff and WCW. I haven't seen Sheamus get any main event heel level reactions. I know the stock answer is to give him time but the guy holding the WWE Title should be ready, he should be getting intense heat and putting on great matches. Especially since every excuse for any capable midcard guy I have ever wanted to see win the title, be it Christian, Umaga, MVP, or Morrison is that they arent ready and dont get enough reactions. Sheamus isnt and doesn't...yet I am supposed to accept it because HHH and Vince think he is ready. I dont think so. I would love to be proven wrong, but I doubt I will.

I say you blame the fans...they are the ones burying him by not giving him heel heat. I am still waiting for the next heel that can get 1987 Iron Shiek/Danny Davis Wrestlemania 3 heel reactions In the defense of the fans he hasn't done anything to garner any heat. Lesnar, for instance, debuted by beating the crap out of a bunch of people, beat up both Hardys by himself a few times, won KOTR and took out Hulk Hogan plus had the hated Paul Heyman by his side. Sheamus, uh, retired a jobber, is pale, and has spikey hair. Perhaps its more a commentary on the WWEs mindset and lack of creativity these days than Sheamus himself...but the fans are sitting on their hands because they have been given no reason to stand up.
