Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! Kingpin advances! I would personally find it hilarious if Kingpin and Dardevil matched up in the next round. Better luck next time, Midge. That now makes Simpsons characters 0-3 versus their opponents. It's not looking good for those remaining to make their appearance. Help me find out who the most awesome/badass character/person of all time is! How would one accomplish such a task? Why by pitting every awesome and/or badass person/character/historical figure in a 512-person bracket style tournament that leaves only one person standing in the end. Who will it be? You will decide. There is no voting criteria. You can vote for a participant based on whatever you please. If you feel that person would be the victor in a fist fight, or if you think they're more badass, more epic, have better hair, or if you just like one better than the other. It's completely up to you, the voter. I want people to have fun with this, and perhaps imagine the two participants squaring off face to face. So today we throw in a little controversy, as we see the debut of civil rights activist, devout Christian, and non-violent protester, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., takes on "retired" professional wrestler, the hardcore legend Terry Funk! I don't think we've seen such a philosophical mis-match in quite some time. Funk, frequent user of weapons, fire, tacks, and explosives when engaged in combat, takes on a man that doesn't engage in combat at all. Dr. King's badassery stems from his sheer lack of fear and stubborness in the wake of hatred. He once sat in an Alabama prison and did nothing but write letters to his jailors about why he was doing what he was doing. Funk's exploits speak for themselves. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr..VS. Terry Funk--- Results: Tom Hanks(5) def. Van Helsing(3) -- Burt Reynolds(6) def. Gordon Freeman(1) -- Richard Petty(4) def. Ron Jeremy(3) -- Hulk Hogan(8) def. I was laughing like a stoner at that match. The sheer ridiculousness of it had me in stitches. Pure gold, I tells ya!

Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! Another close match! I love it! Spike advances over Sephiroth with a four to three victory. That's two four to three matches in a row. I love this unpredictability, and hopefully it continues with today's matchup. More weirdness, possibly the weirdest yet--yes, even worse than Iron Sheik vs. Jaws. Today we have the Marvel comics villain, Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin, taking on one of the most famous mothers in sitcom history, Marge Simpson! Kingpin, of course, is most famous as an adversary of Dardevil, the man without fear. As an organized criminal, Fisk has also tangled with other heroes such as Spider-man and The Punisher. Marge Simpson may not seem up to the task, but remember she has had to deal with Homer and Bart Simpson for 20 years, as well as the rest of the baddies of the Simpsons universe. She's certainly no slouch. Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin.VS. Marge Simpson--- Results: Tom Hanks(5) def. Van Helsing(3) -- Burt Reynolds(6) def. Gordon Freeman(1) -- Richard Petty(4) def. Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! The Crocodile Hunter prevails! It's nice to see people can respect a man of Steve Irwin's badassery. I don't know if I have another Russell Crowe character floating around, so that may have been his only chance. I suppose he can sing songs to his boat, Tugger, to make himself feel better. Onward! Help me find out who the most awesome/badass character/person of all time is! How would one accomplish such a task? Why by pitting every awesome and/or badass person/character/historical figure in a 512-person bracket style tournament that leaves only one person standing in the end. Who will it be? It's completely up to you, the voter. I want people to have fun with this, and perhaps imagine the two participants squaring off face to face. Yesterday was back to basics, today is more non-traditional matchups. We have the main antagonist of one of the most popular Final Fantasy games, Sephiroth, taking on one of the more popular characters of the Buffy and Angel TV shows, Spike. Now, I'll go ahead and admit now, I know very little about either of these guys. I never played FFVII, and I've only seen bits and pieces of the Buffy and Angel. However, I'm very much aware of the popularity of these guys even though I'm not a fan of their respective series. That shows just how much in touch I am. Ain't I great? Sephiroth.VS. Spike--- Results: Tom Hanks(5) def. Van Helsing(3) -- Burt Reynolds(6) def. Gordon Freeman(1) -- Richard Petty(4) def. Ron Jeremy(3) -- Hulk Hogan(8) def. Mace Windu(3) -- Freddie Mercury(2) def. Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! Sheiky Baby hum-bells the Jaws shark! I can't say I didn't see it coming. Sheik is a legend both from the past and present, and his sheer will alone will most likely carry him far into the tournament. Ok, back to basics. No animals, cartoon, or video games. In one corner, we have badass former general of the Roman army turned slave gladiator, Maximus, taking on the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin! I realize that Steve is a somewhat controversial character, but I feel he belongs for his supreme lack of fear and general jolliness despite being constantly surrounded by deadly creatures. Maximus made his name slaying the deadliest creature of all, man, so I'm not really sure what he and Steve have in common. I guess nothing, so the voting line shouldn't be skewed one bit. Maximus.VS. Steve Irwin--- Results: Tom Hanks(5) def. Van Helsing(3) -- Burt Reynolds(6) def. Gordon Freeman(1) -- Richard Petty(4) def. Ron Jeremy(3) -- Hulk Hogan(8) def. Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! WHOOOOOOO! It seems I overestimated Steve Buscemi in this one. But, as they say, the better man wins. We'll see how Ric Flair fares in the later rounds. I have a treat for you all today. Help me find out who the most awesome/badass character/person of all time is! How would one accomplish such a task? I swear I'm not doing this intentionally, but then who could plan this one? I guess I'm safe. I can't really say this is one of your standard real life vs. movie battle. I think it far exceeds that. We have former WWF World Heavyweight Champion The Iron Sheik, taking on the reason people were afraid to go into the ocean in the '70s, Jaws! Umm, could the Sheik even put the shark into the camel clutch? I don't know, you figure it out. Jaws.VS. The Iron Sheik--- Results: Tom Hanks(5) def. Van Helsing(3) -- Burt Reynolds(6) def. Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! Yoda uses the force! Tough luck, Tyler. Seems a few tough cookies have taken a hit lately. That means I chose my combatants wisely. ;D Help me find out who the most awesome/badass character/person of all time is! How would one accomplish such a task? It's completely up to you, the voter. I want people to have fun with this, and perhaps imagine the two participants squaring off face to face. This evening we have our next appearance by a professional wrestler, as "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair takes on highly acclaimed actor Steve Buscemi, who has been in so many movies as a supporting actor that he's a household name. Everyone knows Ric Flair. A sixteen time, WHOOO, World Heavyweight Champion, who actively wrestled for over thirty years in four different decades. Steve Buscemi has been in countless movies with memorable character after memorable character, and even if you may not know his name, I know for a fact you've seen him in something. He's a hero to all us ugly, skinny guys that have ever dreamed of being stars on the silver screen. Ric Flair.VS. Steve Buscemi--- Results: Tom Hanks(5) def. Van Helsing(3) -- Burt Reynolds(6) def. Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! Quite the matchup, and I'm very pleased with voter turnout. McClane is the victor, and probably rightfully so. It may have been bittersweet to see the outlaw come out on top over the action hero. We have yet another interesting battle today. Ok, so I don't really know where to begin with this one. We have a clash of philosophical proportions here. Tyler Durden, the alter ego of The Narrator and main character of Fight Club, takes on Jedi Master Yoda, of the Star Wars series. This is a tough fight because Tyler doesn't technically exist outside the mind of the Narrator, except when he takes over. Yoda is considered one of the most powerful and wise Jedi to ever exist. He's seen it all, which is to be expected from someone that's lived nearly a century. I'd say both have an equal amount of influence, so we'll just have to see how this one turns out. Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! Not much love for the Beastmaster I see. Then again, Bane is the ultimate badass, so I can't criticize much at all. Today, I have a real treat. Help me find out who the most awesome/badass character/person of all time is! How would one accomplish such a task? Why by pitting every awesome and/or badass person/character/historical figure in a 512-person bracket style tournament that leaves only one person standing in the end. Who will it be? Bruce Willis' most famous character, John McClane, makes his debut. He takes on former prohibition era gangster, George "Babyface" Nelson in a classic cops and robbers showdown! McClane needs no introduction, he's one of the most famous action heroes of the last century with one of the best catch phrases as well. Nelson is no hero, or even a nice person. But he was a mean son of a ***** and a badass, and that I can't overlook despite how much of a scumbag he was. Sometimes you gotta admire the bad guys. Let's see what happens. John McClane.VS. Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! What a close match! I was thoroughly surprised with the results! As you know, Doc Holliday narrowly edged out Sideshow Bob 5 to 4! I've been missing those photo finishes. Mostly it's been rompings, but I'm happy about this one. Let's keep this trend going, eh? Help me find out who the most awesome/badass character/person of all time is! How would one accomplish such a task? Why by pitting every awesome and/or badass person/character/historical figure in a 512-person bracket style tournament that leaves only one person standing in the end. Who will it be? It's completely up to you, the voter. I want people to have fun with this, and perhaps imagine the two participants squaring off face to face. Today is another odd ball matchup, but to a geek like me it's an epic showdown. In one corner, we have Dar, the Beastmaster, of the movie of the same name, taking on Bane, one of the Batman's rogues gallery. Dar, of course, is a master of beasts, and controls them to do his bidding. He only seems to be content controlling a tiger, a falcon, and two ferrets. He uses his skills to nail Tanya Roberts and destroy the evil Maax. Bane used his immense skill and cunning to defeat the Batman in his first appearance. By releasing all of Batman's rogues from Arkham, Bane forced Batman to wear himself out re-capturing them all. Bane then took advantage of the opportunity and broke Batty's back. An epic moment. Dar, The Beastmaster.VS. Bane--- Results: Tom Hanks(5) def. Van Helsing(3) -- Burt Reynolds(6) def. Gordon Freeman(1) -- Richard Petty(4) def. Ron Jeremy(3) -- Hulk Hogan(8) def. Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! I am very impressed with the voter turnout for yesterday's matchup. The results don't surprise me, as Sherlock is just too well liked and famous in comparison to the beastly minotaur. Moving right along, we have yet another Simpsons character making an appearance, as Sideshow Bob takes on famous gunfighter from the old American West, Doc Holliday! Bob, of course, is a criminal mastermind that can never seem to successfully topple his mortal enemy, Bart Simpson. Doc Holliday is most known for the famous showdown at the O.K. Corral, when he and Wyatt Earp took on the outlaw gang, the Cowboys. It's classic good buy versus bad guy here. Let's see what happens. Sideshow Bob.VS. Doc Holliday--- Results: Tom Hanks(5) def. Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! Forgive my hiatus, my computer completely betrayed me and forced me to completely reinstall my OS. I'm back now, with the news that Dr. Evil triumphed over Martin Riggs with a 3 to 1 vote. C'mon, people! I expect more than that for our next matchup. Today we have one of the most famous literary characters and detectives of all time, Sherlock Holmes, taking on the mythical beast of Greek lore, the Minotaur! Holmes is, of course, influence for all great detectives today, including Batman, while the Minotaur is a champion of all half-bull/half-man characters through the world of literature, movies, and games; and of course, Mantaur. Try imagining Holmes thrown into the Minotaur's labyrinth. Sherlock Holmes.VS. The Minotaur--- Results: Tom Hanks(5) def. Van Helsing(3) -- Burt Reynolds(6) def. Welcome back to the Tournament to End All Tournaments! Wow! So Donkey Kong totally beats the crap out of a quintessential Arnold character. I knew DK was popular, but damn! Hopefully he goes far in this thing. Not much to say here. We have a good movie character versus an evil movie character. Martin Riggs, one of Mel Gibson's most famous characters from the Lethal Weapon series, takes on Dr. Evil, the main antagonist and one of two main characters from the Austin Powers series. This is a pretty straight forward battle. I'd like to take this time to thank everyone for helping me make it to 50 matches! Only a couple hundred more to go..... Dr. Evil.VS. Martin Riggs--- Results: Tom Hanks(5) def. Van Helsing(3) -- Burt Reynolds(6) def. Gordon Freeman(1) -- Richard Petty(4) def. Ron Jeremy(3) -- Hulk Hogan(8) def. This forum makes the wrestling experience much better for me. My opinion of wrestling was pretty much solidified back in the late 90s. I was spoiled on Steve Austin, Bret Hart and the like. Now they trudge guys like Alex Riley and Mason Ryan out there and expect us hardcore wrestling fans to eat it up. I don't need a wrestling forum to show me the level of talent between then and now is lightyears apart.
