Didn't GLAAD actually praise the gimmick?
But yeah, when Orlando first popped up on the recording I watched I immediately thought to myself "Yep, this isn't going to go well for ANYONE".

Even Trish apparently wasn't fond of her. During the final segment, she suggested Christy use the prize money to buy decaf, but she told Carmella to buy a personality (which set the crowd into "Oh no you didn't" mode). Granted, Trish was a heel. But popular opinion was that she was shooting on Carmella I could believe that. It says something that the worst you could say about Hemme was that she had so much energy while Carmella had zero of that.

Maybe it's my memory acting as a revisionist, but I don't recall too many people being super fond of Carmella, and that goes for the fans AND the other Divas in the Search. And yet she advanced further than girls like Maria and Joy Giovanni all the way until the end where she finally ended up losing to Christy Hemme.
It's not just me, right? I'm not the only one remembering that it felt like WWE kept pushing this woman with the personality of a brick despite there not being a lot of liking towards her?

Boy I'd hate to be the guys that spent 200 dollars on that Katie Vick outfit. Imagine if this forum used to once be associated with them?

Too bad this ruins a lot of Orton's documentaries because they can't quite talk about the match itself. >_>
In all seriousness the match was great, but the next month of programming almost made it feel like they were intentionally killing off any momentum Orton had gotten out of it. Kicking him out of Evolution, turning him face, having it all lead up to Triple H being champion AGAIN when he didn't need the damn title...it's no wonder it took them three years to get the belt back on the guy.

Absolutely this. People can point to his injuries all they want, but he,was absolutely the worse John Cena victim the company's ever had. Not putting the strap on him at the height of Nexus was the biggest booking mistake they've made in a decade. Cena wasn't the champion... what killed that were his two back to back absolutely terrible matches with Orton and at the time was only seeming to have good matches with Cena. And yet they kept putting him in matches with Orton throughout 2011. Go figure, it's like they didn't WANT him to get over with that sort of repeated blandness.

Former women's champion? Nah Remember this is the McMahon's we're talking about here. Vince is a former ECW champion. Former WWE Champion, at that. ...Strange that of all the things he didn't hold the WCW title.

To paraphrase Linkara when talking about classic Green Lantern's outfit compared to Super Jimmy Olsen's in Countdown...
"Dude you can dress up like a clown all you want, just don't kill me!"

Christian walking backstage during their UP NEXT! segment... and they didn't cut until after he stopped walking I remember this well, probably one of my favorites. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lO7JI0soKzwThere was a Kane/Lita segment in 2004 during the Matt Hardy feud where Lita and Kane were looking off camera for someone to count down to the segment starting, and then they immediately got into character. I think it was mentioned before that at the end of a Mohammed Hassan match they accidentally played Charlie Haas' theme, which was weird because he either wasn't on the roster or Raw at the time. And didn't Roman's pyro take forever to go off at 'Mania this year?

Survivor mode would essentially be the monday night wars or attitude era documentary wouldn't it? By the sound of things it looks more like it's gonna look at WWEs 'dark' period where they tried to transition from the Rock & Wrestling era into the New Generation where your main event players were Viscera's pre-Ministry gimmick (drawing a blank, sorry) and Diesel.

Back when Sheamus got his first world title he won a match (I wanna say battle royal but could be wrong) where Anyone who had never been a world champion could compete. Jesse Ventura was the raw host that night and the kayfabe explanation was that he never got his chance at the big one and he wanted to give someone else their chance. They've got enough exciting upper midcard guys who've never been world champ that they could do an mitb in that way. Not saying I want the mitb or love it, just that this would put a mildly fresh spin on it. That said I figure Ambrose, Owens, Rusev or a returning Rollins will probably get it, though Styles might. As for the SHIELD triple threat I would have been all for that last year with one of them getting mitb and another rumble but consider that if we did that this year it means a year of Roman holding the belt and there are so many other better ways to get that triple threat. You know what, they need to do that with MITB, make it so if you used to hold a World title in WWE you can't compete for it. That would hamper them on who they can and can't used in the match and force them to actually try someone new. But of course since I don't work for WWE nobody else will consider that.

Here's what people don't get about the Styles promo: WWE was presenting him to be the heel here. I seriously to this day don't think Vince realizes that fans were largely nodding their heads in agreement with 95% of what Styles had to say. To Vince here was this ungrateful douche whining about all of these things and lashing out against the greatness of WWE's form of entertainment. I do find it interesting that Styles railed against WWE's racy content when ECW did a lot of insane things too. They mocked God with the whole Sandman "crucified" angle, did pregnancy angles before WWE, incessant profane language, violence galore, etc. Thus it was always odd to hear Styles present ECW as some sort of serious wrestling traditionalists. I'll give ECW this, when the fans didn't appreciate it and it made Kurt Angle leave the arena they had Raven apologize for the crucification of Sandman and they stopped it before it could continue.

You know what, I went into this thinking it couldn't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be but WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?
I just...HOW? How does this company STILL BREATHE? You not only made this match happen, you don't reshoot, you don't edit it a little better, you just...you left it in! For people to pay to see!
How long ago did this match actually take place? How much time was there to FIX THIS SHIT?

i thought it was another advert for Snickers. 'You turn into the fish monsters from season three of NuWho when you're hungry.' I was thinking the Silence.

When Charlotte made that moonsault my first thought was how far we've come from the announcers trying to put over Ashley's middle rope elbow drop as a thing. Not sure why since it's not like other women before and after her haven't gone higher, but still.
Sentiments agreed, loved the match, hate the ending. Might as well say that about almost every match.
