The Yankees didn't even have the guts or professionalism to tell the best centerfielder in Yankee history that he was being placed on waivers, he found out from ESPN. What a joke.

I went with an 8. I feel like they should have had so much more momentum coming into a huge show, but a lot of it fell flat. The Billy Gunn stuff should have had more to it. The AR Fox stuff just felt randomly thrown together. Shida seemed like she lost just due to the home crowd factor, which is just silly how they bend over backwards for it like when they had Thunder Rose get pinned on PPV just so she can win in San Antonio right after. Like if you have a moment, just go with it. Don't force it. The obvious strong point is the main, which just had a lightning in a bottle build. Great stuff week after week.
Stadium Stampede was really good. The coffin match wasn't a great wrestling match, but it was just plain fun. Every moment we get with Sting I cherish, because I know it's not for long. He's still crazy, and the crowd loved all of it. Punk/Joe was good, but Punk always has to ruin any goodwill immediately. Ospreay/Jericho was very good, but I feel like we've had tension between Jericho and Sammy for 3 years. Do it or don't, I have no skin in the game anymore regardless.
I'm still tired of the roll-ups in kitchen sink style matches. How are you going to have two guys hit each other with every move in the book, then win with the most basic, unimpactful shit ever? It's fine sometimes, but how many moves never end matches? How many Spanish Flys never win matches? How many Canadian Destroyers never win matches? What's the psychology in doing these difficult moves when they aren't effective at ending matches, but these roll-ups are?
The main event made up for a lot of imperfections in the build and some of the lowpoints, so much so that I almost gave it a 9. Great storytelling, great wrestling, great drama. When you have people popping huge for taking off a shirt, that's what makes wrestling great. Something so small, but over so huge. I thought they would do the double turn, but they went in a better direction and put off the end of the story arc for another day in a way that both made sense and still delivered feeling. They earned the confetti, and I came away feeling much better about the show than I did before.

Getting boned on a parlay because I stupidly bet on a Lincoln Riley defense. Yup I took USC -16.5 Halftime Pain. Reminiscent of last CFB season. Oh well, got the cheapie Week 0 bet out of the way, Week 2 looks decent. Lots of small school stomping next week.

I know everyone including myself is wrapped up in how bad a Yankees season it's been but can we talk about how the A's probably won't even win 50 games this season. They're sitting at 37-91 with 32 games left. They're going to finish with one of the worst seasons in baseball history and it gets no play because they're in Oakland and the media could care less about a none LA California team. And while all this is happening Vegas and the MLB are about to reward their shit owner with a billion+ new stadium and a shiny new city. Like this should be the headliner of baseball! There is nothing redeeming about Fisher and what he's done and doing to Oakland and baseball and it's just swept under the rug. That man is so f***ing lucky the Yankees are having its worst season since 1990 otherwise he would be getting crucified in the press and rightfully so. And what makes it worse is that you know that as soon as the A's officially move to Vegas and are about to start playing in their new ballpark, they are gonna go after free agents like crazy in order to put a competitive team on the field to attract Vegas locals to their games. It's going to happen. The nice thing is in baseball you have to spend a LOOOOOOOT of money to be competitive. Some teams spend tons and still can't win like the NY teams this year or the Angels every year. And the FA class limits what they can really do. There's plenty of arms they can pay like Nola, Scherzer, Urias, Snell, JoMo, etc. But for everyday players it's pretty barren. They've got a shit team right now. They have a bottom half of the league farm system. They're gonna spend the first couple of years, but once the gimmick of baseball in the desert wears off (and it does in a number of markets where there's a bunch of entertainment options, like Miami) they're gonna be left with the having to run a competent organization which hasn't been their strong suit since Fisher took over. 3-4 years from now they're gonna be in the same damn spot.

The only thing I've wanted from the Cardinals since May is a top 5 pick placement. We're closer than ever to it coming to fruition.

Man, the Wyatt family is like cursed. These guys are way too young to be passing in a business that has gotten to be in a really healthy place. I never really got into Bray because he seemed like he was out of place in modern wrestling, but maybe I just didn't appreciate enough him separating himself from the flippy, finish-spam workers of today.

Strasburg coming up was an electric time. His stuff was other-worldly and as a prospect he was can't-miss. This is just another reason to not risk it on a pitcher with a big FA contract or a top 10 pick. Absolute ticking time bombs.

The Angels had the most valuable player in baseball, almost guaranteed to leave in the offseason, and they didn't get one player for him. All time blunder. Easiest decision in the world, and they blew it bolstering a subpar team.

Sam Darnold has been reportedly made the no2 QB in San Francisco. Trey lance is now 3rd at best. That trade to move up to get him hasn’t worked at all. I still haven’t the slightest clue why they didn’t take Fields. Fields had the best toolbox at the time, too. Teams get too enamored with size and best case scenario upside. Fields was an extraordinary mobile QB with arm talent and production at a big school against top competition. He should have been the guy from jump in that draft. I lost money on a bet on him going above pick 6, and it turns out NFL teams just aren't very smart.

Gunnar, Grayson, and Holliday still got insane service time left. Why even bother torpedoing your fanbase when you don't even have to? Making the Angels look savvy. Gunnar and Grayson just got to the majors this year, both probably end up with Super 2 status meaning O'd get an extra year and Holliday is not even in the majors yet. You're crying about your pockets when they aren't even close to arbitration much less FA Also, do what the Braves did and offer them deals for long term financial gain but relatively smaller risk for you if they turn out to be stars. I can't imagine O's fans are happy about this when they are in the position they are in right now. They were looking forward to a bright future and is now dreading it Shit, what does anyone remember about the Milwaukee Bucks spending until Giannis ascended? They struck while the iron was hot financially and spent money to make money, and now they're a 10x stronger basketball market than they were 15 years ago. Baseball owners have always been a bunch of old misers; more interested in profits and collusion than advancing the game.

F*** off with that bullshit O's Y'all got Billion dollar TV deals. No one trying hear that sympathy bullshit when you got high level talent and you already talking that you can't afford them when negotiations hasn't even started Gunnar, Grayson, and Holliday still got insane service time left. Why even bother torpedoing your fanbase when you don't even have to? Making the Angels look savvy.

*inhales* It's the LAST Saturday before CFB starts!!! I'm looking quite a bit right now at the lines for week 1. ND -10.5 vs. Navy Halftime Vandy -9 vs. Hawaii Halftime USC -30.5 vs. San Jose St NC State -15 @ UCONN Halftime scores is always my go to for early weeks of CFB Them f***ing 40 point spreads be heartbreaking when it is a 39 point win Yeah, those 2nd stringers giving up a TD with 2 minutes left in a game that has been over since the end of the 1st is always a tough loss. Which is why I avoid it for the most part, unless it's a team known to run up the score. USC's defense scares me after last year, but man are they just quite a good bit better than SJSU.

Trey showing those tools late game against the scrubs. I’m obviously not sold on him at all, but I’m so glad he’s looking solid for even a game. For his sake. — And a GWD. He needed that so badly, and I’m so happy for him. Trey always shows promise then gets injured.

Why are the Mets winning games? Because my Cardinals are a bag of ass. The worse the better. Give me a top 3 pick and Mozeliak out.

Julio Rodriguez is playing out of his mind right now. Holy crap. Julio is a badass who was having a really rough 1st half. Quite like Bo Bichette last year, did all his damage in the 2nd half. The HR Derby seemed to be a big boost in his confidence, which you never hear about. It's always about guys being drained for power in the 2nd half. Maybe the new set-up is working.
