I'm always looking for more wrestling on TV. And, now that I've got satellite, I've got more on my plate than ever before. My DVR makes watching wrestling a different experience, and makes sure I miss nothing. Now I can fast forward through all the talking, and really make T Impact that great 1 hour wrestling show" I'm always talking about.
Every week, I watch: WWE Monday Night Raw WWE NXT on Tuesday WWE Superstars on Thursday TNA Impact on Thursday WWE Smackdown on Friday Lucha Libre USA on MTV2 on Friday Pro Wrestling Ohio on Saturday AAA Lucha Libre on Galavision on Sunday
As well as random AWA and UWF Classics all weel ok ESPN Classic.
But, the glutton I am, I need more. Is there any other wrestling on DirecTV?
I'd love to see something from the NWA or a local indy. I'm in the St. Louis market, and as sad as it is, there doesn't seem to be any local wrestling on local TV. It's, apparently, very tough to get approval from the missouri state athletic commission to do shows here anymore, so maybe that's why.
I'm rambling though. If anyone knows of any wrestling I'm missing, please let me know.

Is this still on? I got Satellite about a month ago, and signed up for the SG channel, mostly for this show. I can never seem to find it on though.
Wikipedia says it's on "every wednesday night", and the MSG website says "wednesday at 10", but it never ever shows up in my guide.
Can anyone confirm it's still on, or can i save the few bucks each month and drop the sports package?
Side question for DirecTV subscribers: Is ESPN Classic part of the sports package, or will I still have it if drop the sports package? I like my AWA and UWF too, but I'm close to having seen all of them.

Some more facts:
The title has gone through many name changes in almost 7 years.
It was the World Wide Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight Championship The World Wide Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship(upon re-joining the NWA) The World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship(upon the name change) The World Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight Championship(upon re-withdrawl from the NWA) The World Wrestling Federation Undisputed World Heavyweight Wrestling Championship(upon unification with the (WCW) World Heavyweight Championship) The World Wrestling Entertainment Undisputed World Heavyweight Wrestling Championship(upon the name change) The World Wrestling Entertainment World Heavyweight Championship(upon extracting the (WCW) World Heavyweight Championship)
You can put 'wrestling' before 'championship' on any of those names, and it's still valid, as well as any number of abbreviations. The usually just refer to it as the WWE Championship these days.
Here's all the champions under the different names. Inoki isn't there.
Buddy Rogers, Bruno Sammartino, Ivan Koloff, Pedro Morales, Stan Stasiak, Billy Graham, and Bob Backlund held the WWWF Championship; Backlund, Iron Shiek, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Sgt. Slaughter, Undertaker, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Yokozuna, Diesel, HBK, Sid, Stone Cold, Kane, The Rock, Mankind, Vince, Triple H, Big Show, and Kurt Angle held the WWF Championship; Chris Jericho, HHH, Hogan, Undertaker, Rock, and Brock Lesnar held the WWF/WWE Undisputed World Heavyweight Wrestling Championship; Lesnar, Big Show, Angle, Eddie Guerrero, JBL, John Cena, Edge, RVD, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Dave Batista, and Seamus have held the WWE Championship.
So, thats 7 WWWF Champions, 22 WWF Champions, 6 Undisputed champions, and (so far) 12 WWE Champions.

Man, they didn't show Masters vs. Chavo!
Why does no one watch Superstars? It's awesome. No boring talking, and lots of action. If only they'd dump the Ask the Divas...
This week, if they'd have dumped that, and not had commercials during the main event, they should have shown the 4th match.
Also, why wasn't the ECW Championship Match the main event? Yes, it WAS a title match, because they never said it was a non-title match. The only time that isn't true is when the non-champion wins by pin or submission, but doesn't get the belt.

I loved the Santino match. He actually looked competent for once. The ECW Title Match (they didn't say non-title!) was good too, with Ryder almost unseating the champion. I wonder why that wasn't the main event...
Superstars Production team: Hmmm, should we have our main event be this awesome title match, or some midcarder who used to be a cheerleader vs. half of a tag team?

It was the most exciting time I'd had watching wrestling in years. It felt like 1997 again. Switching between shoiws, wondering who I'll see next, marking out every few minutes, and some great matches. Desmond Wolf really impressed me, even though he lost to Pope Lazy. AJ Vs. Angle was pure awesome. Jerishow vs. DX was great, though the wrong team won. And Bourne vs. Seamus was great too. It made me feel like Seamus was more legit as champion. Should have been a title match though.
TNA really did feel like WCW, but that's a good thing. I think they're really about to break through. WCW did mediocre until Hogan showed up, and a few years later was on top of the world. I don't think they'll overcome the E, but they're going to be bigger than anyone thought possible. I was surprised by so many of the people who showed up. Jeff Hardy! Hall and Waltman! Flair and Morely and the Nasty's I expected, but still cool as hell, even if Knobbs can't really move anymore. I marked out when Ric Flair appeared, almost as much as I did when Bret came out on Raw.
Raw was awesome too. I half thought it was gonna be a swerve, but when Bret really came out, I was a 13 year old mark again. The show itself wasn't as big, but it delivered where it mattered. A big title match, lots of fun interaction, Bret and Shawn, Bret and Vince, it was just unreal.
I had 2 VCR's going, and one show in each room. I went back and forth, and haven't seen either in it's entirety yet. But, overall, my impression during was much like an overexcited Tony Schivonne. It was The Greatest Night in the History of the Sport! At least so far this decade.

When the guy on the mat lies there for long enough for the other guy to climb the ropes, he's dazed, trying to get his wits about him, perhaps simply too hurt to get up until he recovers a bit. If he were pinned, he could probably escape, if only on instinct. The flying move from the turnbuckle may be enough to finish him, but without it the pin wouldn't work, no matter how long he layhs there recovering.

Lanny wrestled as The Genius as well. He even has a win over Hulk Hogan. That match is famous for Genius's mathematical equation that equalled "Hulk Down". Apparently it worked, as he walked out with a count out victory.

A properly executed DVD lands flat on the back. If you land on your neck and shoulders, of course it's dangerous. As for not seeing it in the E, The FU is a variation, though it's more of a fireman's carry slam.
Also, my nephew is the thrower, not the throwee. The throwee is my freind Justin, a very light man who takes pride in backyard wrestling. I don't imagine for a minute that my nephew could properly take a Death Valley Driver, or any other big slamming move.
from 2003 - 2009 The IC belt has been competed for a total of...25 Seconds
I'm sure you mean at Wrestlemania, even though you don't mention it. Actually, the IC Title was defended at Wrestlemania 19. It was part of the WHC at the time. And didn't Flair defend it at Wrestlemania 23 in a dark match? That might be way off.

They should bring back Petey and put him in the MEM. It was stupid for them to release him. Remember the tension between him and scottie when it first started?
Triple H Is the only superstar to Win, Defended & Loose the WWE Championship in One night. No Mercy 2007 CM Punk made his PPV debut @ WM22 in Chicago as a Chi-Town Mafia person in John Cena's Entrance The Rock's last PPV match was @ WM 20 @ MSG..where he lost Edge has returned @ the last 2 Survivor Series PPVs...could 2009 be the third??? doubt it Survivor Series 2003 marks the last "American Badass" Undertaker ever appeared
What about Yokozuna at Wrestlemania 9? Won from Bret, defended against and lost to Hogan.
Also, this was my 750th post!

I've gotten so fed up with the current product. I didn't watch wrestling at all for months. Then, I got a DVR, and a whole new world opened up to me. I just don't watch the parts I don't like. TNA really does put on a great one hour wrestling show. Raw's great at about an hour and a half, ECW and Superstars are awesome at half an hour, etc. I watch the matches, fast forward through the talking and backstage crap, and have a great time. You can do somethign similiar with a VCR, but it's more time consuming.
I taped that way too. 11 tapes covering all the wrestling available to me from april to october, nothing but matches and a few cool interviews. I hate the talking, i wish they treated it more as a sport.
You can always check out some Backlund era stuff if you like the sport aspect more than the entertainment aspect like I do. Great stuff from back then. They really gave it the respect it deserves.

It was last year when i made the list, but there are WAY too many wrestlers using a variation of the Flatliner.
What's so dangerous about DVD's? Just m,ake sure they land on their back like they're supposed to, and not anywhere near their head. My 6 year old nephew can do one properly, why can't a professionally trained athelete?
I'd like to see less striking in general, especially illegal stuff like closed fists.
They should brink back big fat body splashes. The only fat guy left is Mark Henry though.

How long had it been since Vince was on commentary. Late '97 or early '98 I'd guess. Jesse's been away longer, he did WCW until sometime in the mid 90's, not exactly sure when.
Jesse coming back full time would be great. He's got good chemistry with JR, even if Vince doesn't want the commentary position. Putting Jesse with Matt Striker would be interesting too.

A chair match is simply that, a match where chair are allowed to be used as weapons. Other weapons are not allowed.
That said, I never really got the difference between a Ladder Match and a TLC match. The object is the same, the rules are the same, the only difference is the objects you can use are more readily available. And a TLC match that WASN'T a ladder match? That wouldn't make sense at all!
It'd cause a riot with people getting the hell out of dodge to not get shot. I don't see it happening with a fake gun, even.
Maybe a colorful, obvious paintball gun, like suggested, or maybe a tazer, which has happened, although the person in the match didn't bring it, Scott Hall did, and it wasn't No DQ, he just didn't get caught.
Actually, the Starrcade '98 match WAS No DQ. Which means Nash went over Goldberg clean, because tazers, and interfering lackeys and partners were legal.
