I saw Scott Pilgrim on the second day because I saw The Expendables the day before. I'll admit I made the wrong choice. Also, I count myself fortunate to have seen Grindhouse in theaters with both movies back-to-back, the way it was intended.

I was going to list this one. But I was the projectionist at the time it came out, so I don't think that counts.

Scott Pilgrim. I don't think it would've been such a bomb had they not released it on the same day as Expendables. That this beat Pilgrim still annoys me. To quote Simon Pegg, if audiences wanted to see an action movie starring OAPs, Edgar Wright had done Hot Fuzz years before.

The Devils Rejects, it was literally me, my friend and 3 people, one was sleeping the other two were in the back doing questionable things. We were in the middle, the ticket taker showed up in the middle to take a nap to

Sahara Speed Racer Final Fantasy: Spirits Within Dudley Do-Right (half of drive-in double feature) Gigli (advance screening, no less) Osmosis Jones Holy Man Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li (discount theater) Jonah Hex (worked at theater, didn't need to pay) McHale's Navy (discount theater) Kull the Conqueror (discount theater) Larger than Life (discount theater)
Edit through going through thread:
Slackers Scott Pilgrim Dragonball Evolution Batman & Robin Date Movie Tomcats Ready to Rumble BASEketball (first R-rated movie I got to see in theaters alone, no less) Stuck on You Jersey Girl Walk Hard Shawshank Redemption Hot Rod Godzilla Titan A.E. (discount theater) Wrongfully Accused (discount theater) Bicentennial Man (worked at theater, didn't need to pay) Bowfinger (worked there) Just Married The Ringer Wing Commander (first showing, no less) Grindhouse Doom Josie and the Pussycats Snakes on a Plane Serenity (first movie I ever ended up the only person watching) Spy Hard (discount)
The sad thing is, just reading through the list made me remember exactly my motivations in seeing every one of them.

I was going to say Epic Movie, but then I read it made almost $90 million worldwide, so... none?

Speaking of which, I think watching Machete and Hobo With A Shotgun back to back makes for a fun, unofficial "Grindhouse 2."

They've released the complete theatrical version on DVD/Blu-Ray and it's pretty affordable, the only downside is that the audio on the Blu-Ray is not lossless like the individual releases.

Another one, there are some others that were mentioned on here that I have seen, but here's another that I didn't have a problem with seeing, but I wanted to see something else that night: I went on a date with someone that night. I didn't know until that very night that she was taking ME out for my birthday, which was days before. She wanted to see a comedy movie. At first, she wanted to see Tropic Thunder, but I told her that I had already seen it, even though I was not opposed to seeing it for a second time, but she didn't want to do that if I had already seen it. I also wanted to see Death Race that night, but it was at a different theater. She didn't want to see an action flick. So we went with this. It was average at best, it had its moments. It wasn't all too bad. I still have yet to see it a second time, though.
