Max Verstappen is currently one of the hottest drivers in Formula One. His dad was racing when I first started watching. Max was not even born yet when I started watching full time in the 90's. To be fair, Max is one of the new breed of ridiculously young drivers coming into F1. It used to be that a 25 year old driver was considered a rookie with potential. These days they're winning titles at that age. The new driver at Williams, Lance Stroll (Stoll?) is all of 17...he makes Verstappen seem like a veteran.

Wrestling fans were so excited about ECW's first PPV Barely Legal. That show is 20 years old in April. Let that sink in.

I would go to Florida to stay at my Grandmother's during the summer. We would call home to talk to my dad. One call we could hear him playing a video game in the background. And from the sounds we figured out it was the hot new video game we really wanted! But my dad would keep teasing saying he didn't know what we were talking about it was just a commercial, but we knew he had bought it. When we came home we couldn't wait to play it. Oh that hot new game?: Super Mario Bros 3!
I can hardly remember last week but I remember that phone call from 1988! And i just figured out that was almost 30 years ago. Damn random memories!

With that said, the BTCC has a support race series called Ginetta Juniors, that is now full of drivers who were born this century, that's kinda scary.

Child actors you grew up watching now playing the adult/guardian roles.
When you realize it's been 20 years since Buffy The Vampire Slayer first aired, 23 years for Friends and so on.
When you think of films as newish films then you realize they came out 10 years ago.
Realising it's nearly 18 years since Owen Hart was killed and they'll be fans probably even on here not born or a baby when it happened

I'm 34.
I think what makes me feel oldest is when I look at things from the perspective of how I viewed them when I was younger.
For example, when I was like 14-15, I used to listen to the local alternative station in Toronto (102.1 The Edge). On Sundays, they'd have a retro show that I liked that would play stuff like New Order, The Cure, Depeche Mode, etc.
So if I was 15 and listening to Enjoy the Silence (from 1989), it'd be the equivalent of a 15-year-old today listening to "retro" music from 2009.
That blows my mind.

My grandfather bought me my first home computer 20 years ago this April. It featured a 133mhz processor, a 2 GB hard drive, and 16 MB of RAM. The cost? A whooping $2500, not even accounting for inflation. Meanwhile, a 2 GB flash drive can be had today for $5 or less.

This July, it will be 20 years (!) since I attended my first Raw taping.
It still blows my mind that many WWE stars are younger than me.

Recently, I saw an episode of South Park where some of the boys were pressing their pant-less fronts against windows in protest.
I remarked "Haha, we've come such a long way! I remember not that long ago what a big deal people were making about a certain sight that may or may not be in the Simpsons movie... wait... that had to have been in like, 2007? NAKED BART SIMPSON IS FROM OVER TEN YEARS AGO!?!"

Last year I binge watched Buffy and Angel
Me: Okay, done with Buffy, which debuted in 1997. I wonder whatever happened to Alyson Hannigan. Oh, that's right. She was on HIMYM, which lasted nine seasons and ended two years ago.

OT, when I was in college, digital video editing was nothing short of "magic" and we were taught to splice audio tape Yeah, everybody can make and edit digital video with their cellphones/laptops. Back when I was in high school the video lab had a high end tower machine with a firewire card for capturing the video from a DV tape since there weren't cameras that did straight video files. Meanwhile I did amateur home videos with a digital stills camera that had 320x240 resolution at 15fps. You could record 33 second clips. And the memory card I had was 64 megabytes in size. And once I was finished it would have been seen like 10 people at most, since there was no youtube to put it on. Considering the quality I think that was for the best. EDIT: Messed up quotes

This wrestler called the Undertaker was at one of the very first Wrestlemanias I ever saw as a wee tyke.
He's still at Wrestlemania fighting people younger than me.
