Watched a movie called THE BASEMENT
Guy is kidnapped and torchered to the single most obvious twist you can see coming...FROM THE COVER OF THE MOVIE! and if ya don't catch it that soon it becomes extremely obvious at a little under the half way point.
Reccomendation....avoid it , it is nothing impressive and brings nothing new to the table that any other horror movie hasn't already done and done it so much better.

I watched Cloverfield for the first time in ten years. It's nice to watch a movie where everyone you hate ends up eaten or blowed up. The scene with Lizzy Caplan exploding from the inside out still makes me laugh.

I watched the 5th Wave tonight. The first few acts were good but once the army stuff got going it got so unfathomly stupid. And the army stuff was the entire final act. But the beginning when it was just the girl was actually not bad at all.

Last weekend I saw Small Foot. It was okay when it wasn’t trying to be slapsticky funny. The songs blew. But once it got to the point it was okay. 5/10
Then I saw the new Halloween and it was okay. It relied a bit too much on nostalgia and a lot of it was pretty easy to see through. Some of the deaths were funny and I was rooting for Michael Myers. 7/10

Equalizer 2.
I personally enjoyed it more than the first, but don't know if that's an unpopular opinion or not.

Saw the new Grinch. It was pretty boring and dull, but I could pretty much say the same thing about all the Illumination films

Overlord was really solid, and definitely worth the watch.

Overlord was really solid, and definitely worth the watch. Yes good movie. However, "Overlord" falls into the same area as "Halloween" (2018) and Paranormal Cirque (not a movie but a local travelling 'dark circus' that just came by here, good stuff but less dark and scary as I tbought they would be. I bring a friend of mine to these and she hates horror stuff but had no problems with them. She was more scared of "The Nun"

I watched Heritage. It's a triumph of craft. Describing it wouldn't get across how incredible it is because of how well it deals with so many tropes.

I also watched the Rob Zombie Halloween this weekend and I was really surprised by how much I liked it. Aside from some songs I really hate on the soundtrack and Danny Trejio and Ken Foree dying it was great. Malcolm McDowell was really good, especially in those e early scenes. The new one was too much a homage to the series, this was a good remake that took risks 8.5/10
Anyone else think young Michael Myers looked like Amanda Seyfried?

Beyond Skyline. No big stars. Plot holes all over the place. And yet for some reason I really enjoyed this. Now I have to go out and find the original one.

I also watch a bad port of the Beyond where some of the gore was cut out but the girls head exploding was left in

Been watching this pack of martial arts movies I picked up cheap at the WM, 19 movies for about $5, with a bunch of Bruce Lee-inspired actors. One of the movies I watched tonight was "Breathing Fire" starring Jonathan Ke Quan, aka. Short Round from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and Data from "The Goonies". And he's pretty damn good in the action department. Apparently he's gone on to be an assistant to stunt choreographer Corey Yeun on the 2000 "X-Men" movie.
EDIT: this movie opens with Bolo Yeung robbing a bank in a dress.
