Post reviews, ratings and thoughts on movies old and new.
Daddy's Home Two was really bad. I never saw the first one but I picked up the plot easy enough from the trailers. But my wife told me it's way better than this one. The only time I chuckled during this one was the few bits of physical comedy. No funny sub-plots or jokes. 2.5/10

I love to see Adam Sandler get critical acclaim, but The Meyorwitz Stories really isn't all that compelling. Every character seems like a boring off-beat.

I literally just got done watching A Monster Calls.
First movie to actually make me cry since Marley And Me.

I just watched a few trailers for the Disaster Artist. It...doesn't look that great. Has anyone read any advance reviews?

So aside from Coco last night, recently I saw Mudbound and Captain Underpants.
Mud is an emotional tour de force, as one would expect, but Underpants is funnier and wittier than I was expecting. Nick Kroll is a hilarious voice actor, and Mary J. Blige and Carey Mulligan are damn good actors period.
Also, I highly recommend The Florida Project. It's slow burning, but the characters are full of energy and personality.

Coco was really, really good. If it’s not the best of the Pixar movies it’s tied with Wall-E as the best. No real problems or complaints aside from it being a little predictable.
9.5/10
the Frozen short that preceded it was okay. It was way too long for a short, clocking in at over twenty minutes. I’m not a fan of Frozen but it was mostly Olaf so that’s okay. But I perefer the Pixar shorts.

Had to watch The Emoji Movie for a film project and I now hate myself. Words aren't cool! That film was sad and depressing in how bland it was. The Olaf short before Coco was cute, but I'm a Frozen fan anyway. It was way too long though and should have been saved for a television special.

Wathed a new movie called HANGMAN with Al Pacino.
Very cliche cops catching serial killer movie but Al is always fun to watch , fine for a one and done time waster.

Lady Bird lived up to the hype. Hoping Saoirse Ronan, Laurie Metcalf and Greta Gerwig all get plenty of attention come awards season.
Going to see 3 Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri tonight and looking forward to The Shape of Water

The response has been very negative and some theatres in Mexico have stopped paying it.

seen FOUR animated movies over the last two days ..... SAUSAGE PARTY - those of a nervous disposition leave now ..... this is one of THE MOST crude, lewd, horrific ..... and FUNNIEST THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!! even after midnight i was laughing my ass off!!! not laughed as hard at anything for years! DC SUPER HERO GIRLS INTERGALACTIC GAMES - second one i've seen of this, very enjoyable and goes by a lick! MINIONS - another hilarious movie that i was ROFLing a lot DESPICABLE ME 3 - almost the same, again those little guys steal the show, but best bit was when agnes finds her "unicorn" and their both jumping up and down in glee ..... i was ready to join them it was so adorable and one brilliantly simple pratfall ..... another busy one with quite a few storylines going on so anyone won't be bored at all!

Ferdinand really should have just been a straight-to-DVD movie. It was okay in parts but other parts were just terrible. The horses were pretty funny, especially their mocking line towards Ferdinand of "I bet his parents aren't even related". Hearing John Cenas voice as a computer generated bull was just weird though. He tried his best but he came across as a guy reading lines a few times. It was funny that Peyton Manning voiced a bull too but I had no idea it was him until his name came up in the end credits. My oldest son loved it though.

I ended up watching all of the Rocky movies after I turned the first one on for background noise while I was working and FINALLY watched Creed. Not a bad movie at all, IMO, although the story did feel a bit rushed. I'll definitely be seeing the sequel when it's released to see if they expand more.
