I remember in that recent Hogan thread seeing Bruno marginalized. I knew this man. He was a great great person outside of the business. He loved the business. He protected our business. Without him there is no modern wrestling.
A sad loss for wrestling, a sad loss for Pittsburgh. The most fit 82 year old, but that doesn't stop the inevitable.
Rip.
If anyone isn't familiar with Bruno in or out of the ring. It would be a disservice to everyone if you don't look into it. A great man.

Wow that game out of nowhere. I thought he would live to 100 if not forever. RIP

Saddened to hear about Bruno's passing but at 82 years old you can't say he didn't live a full life.
Very well spoken and I loved listening to hear him tell stories on YouTube about the wrestling business back in the day. Hearing about his rough upbringing and nearly dying during WWII was incredibly fascinating to learn during his HOF speech.
RIP Bruno. There'll never be another like him.

A true legend in this sport and I wish his family the best during this time of loss.
RIP Bruno

My dad once saw Bruno live and love him. Once Hogan came onto the scene he and his brothers thought wrestling was corny kid stuff, not like the real men like Bruno, lol.
RIP to a legend.

RIP Bruno.
Great that Bruno and WWE patched things up and he was able to take his rightful spot in the HOF.

RIP to the Living Legend. The man made WWE possible. Without a question one of the most important wrestlers of all time.

RIP to him. When I saw I got an alert on my phone, that he had passed, I was shocked. It doesn't seem that long ago, I was sitting with my brother, in the Garden, watching his HOF induction.

Shocker. He looked to be in tremendous shape.
82 is a long time and I thought, honestly, he was older.

Screenshot credited to Crappler El O M of this parish, in the 2013 HOF thread. One of those "you'll always remember where you where when you heard" for long term fans. Survived Nazis, became a legend. RIP. ![](http://i.imgur.com/WpkLHyA.jpg)

This is a man who I swear would have wrestled 2 out of 3 with the Devil himself before death took him. Like others, I’m glad he got his due before having to answer the final bell.
Man, the main event in the great ring above tonight will be amazing.

What a tremendous loss. He was the father of all modern day pro wrestlers. There’s a straight line between Bruno and every main eventer since. Wrestling itself owes him a debt that can never be repaid and we, as well as the industry itself, are all a bit diminished by his passing.

The word "legend" gets thrown around a lot these days and has become something of a buzzword.
Bruno Sammartino was an absolute f***ing legend in the truest sense of the word
May he Rest in Peace
