Makes sense to me, but then again I´m not a SJW. lol at anyone ever saying "I'm not a SJW" unironically. And no, this wasn't the perfect response. The only response to take given that this is already set in stone is to book a women's only PPV in the same vein in the US to give them an equal chance. Bring back Lita and Trish for singles matches with the new talent, use the NXT talent, have gimmick matches, put both titles on the line, introduce a women's tag championship at the event, etc. That's a response to this, not some bullshit "pushing social change!" crap with future fake aspirations that won't happen in the name of taking giant sums of cash from dictators. First of all, I prefer most of the womens division over the mens. I needed to say this because having a Womens PPV right now would probably mean least watched PPV in history. Dictator is actually incorrect, its a monarchy. FYI: Monarchys don´t usually change in 24hours, takes a little bit of time. I´m just going to ignore the rest of what you are saying, not because I don´t know what to say, but rather because you are actually insulting an entire country which would get you atleast warned if it would be any other country. Like my post said, up to you. I don´t really care, 50% of wrestling fans want to be miserable anyways. If you would actually be outraged, you would not watch their product, go in a forum and discuss their events etc. If you are going to be against the establishment and call a country a dictatorship, atleast don´t be a phony about it and actually do something.

I'm getting some serious LOLS at people who honestly think that this event could help lead to some sort of social change in Saudi Arabia. In regards to posts I have made, I am not saying this event on its own is causing the change, but that WWE is in on the ground floor as societal change begins to happen in the country.

Gotta be honest, it's pretty funny to me that Stephanie McMahon always has people calling for her head when she says vague nonsense like this, but when Triple H does it he's "just doing what he's gotta do"
Like, I really hope that people in here aren't freaking out next time Steph says something about "women's revolution" after this.

You brought it in by using the phrase SJW, which is a bullshit phrase created by assholes to shit on people for not wanting to see islamophobia, homophobia, sexism and racism constantly used in language. And it's an absolute monarchy, which isn't the same thing as a UK like monarchy was in the past (not that a monarchy is good in any form, but that's not important). If you use Ronda Rousey as the main event, it won't be the least watched PPV. Use it to give her the first shot at a championship, and that can easily do significant numbers.

Anyone else have a massive beef over the fact it's become a Womens 'Evolution' rather than 'Revolution'? It's just, like, the wrong word??
Either way, this is the first time I've even seen it addressed by someone senior at the company, unless I've missed something? Genuinely didn't think they were going to mention it at all

Constitutional monarchies are fine. Congratulations WWE, you made BBC News! www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-43879487

I'll say one thing on this: I get where he's coming from and it is a cultural thing. But at the very least, why not have an all-women's event on Saturday night for the Network? Even if you had to do it from Full Sail, it would've been better than nothing. And it would be a way of both making it up to the women for missing out, plus it's a great way of saying, "we believe in these girls so strongly, we're giving them their own Network event."

Probably because every one else will be at this show or on the way home and jet lagged. Then they have Backlash the next week. Plus it would be a real stretch to book (not wrestling but building, security, airfare, and so on) something like that on short notice.

You know, the way WWE performers complain about their schedule and travel, I bet the women are actually pretty happy to have a weekend off.

I can't really blame them in this case. Supposedly there's a buttload of money thrown their way, and the country only just let female spectators enter sports stadiums for the first time earlier this year. Ultimately it's not WWE's place to try and further upend their traditional norms. If progress is taking place, even at a snails pace, let it come from the proper places, not from a western wrestling promotion.

I saw a few women organisers and spectators in the publicity tour videos WWE put up of Mojo and Mark Henry in Saudi Arabia.
Some weren't even wearing hijabs. So "progress" is being made. It looked like any event where there are some male and some female members in the team.
There will always be an element of media playing up and exaggerating certain negative points of a culture.

WWE ain't changin a damned thing here. Let's not kid ourselves. No, but the first step is important. If they get women onto the show in the next few years, that's progress. Women are slowly being given their rights in Saudi Arabia, but there's generations' worth of attitudes to change before it becomes less of a hot issue, and entertainment plays a big part in that.

Does anyone know just how much they ARE getting paid for this? I don't have a reliable source but I'm guessing upper eight/ low nine figures (tens or hundreds of millions of dollars) no offense, but if there's THAT much money involved, I don't think I could say "no" either. There is absolutely no way Triple H could have pleased everyone with his answer, but there's also a bunch of people that would still think Triple H was an asshole if he bought them a car and gave them millions of dollars. I'm available to test this theory

Curious, has it been disclosed how much WWE is getting from this deal? Nothing official yet, though the unofficial figure at the moment is $100 to $200 million, though I'm not sure if that's for this show or for the ten year agreement (I suspect the latter).

Though i hope they spread the wealth to the women

They're posting record revenues, but their actual profits are minuscule, so if taking Arab money means they don't have to start cutting contracts and letting people go, then some good is coming from it. And if their presence in Saudi Arabia over the next ten years plays even a small part in the gradual change in culture over there, even better.
