75. Kirby's Dream Land
Kind of just another short game (and another with a superior version of it on the Super Nintendo for that matter) but hey, it's fun. Very aged in a lot of ways - besides the lack of copy powers, not being able to use A to float makes the controls a lot more awkward than they need to be, and some aspects of its game design can be a bit cheap while the rest is just kind of piss-easy - and the whole thing is very basic but it's a decent game to pick up and kill a little time with.

76. Pokemon Puzzle Challenge
Guess I'm on a short Game Boy / Color game trip right now. Weird how that works out I guess. Not a lot to say on it, it's Panel de Pon, you know the drill.

15. THPS 1&2 (PS5, digital)
The first game I've beaten on the PS5. Slam through the tours super quick just from the sheer amount I've played these levels over the years. Game looks stunning on the PS5, even more so than the PS4 and that was gorgeous in its own right. I just wish I didn't slam through THPS games so quickly.

Civ 2:
Eleanor Roosevelt and her alliance with Saladin was finally defeated by the heroic Sioux forces led by Sitting Bull (me).
I played on a large version of the World Map and all the "players" used their real life starting locations. Game started with the Sioux, Americans, Incas on the new world. Europe only had the Vikings and Greeks. Africa only had the Zulu and the final two were India and the Japanese. You are probably wondering "Where the hell did Saladin come from?" Well, the Japanese had this strange trend of building a massive empire across all of Asia and into Europe, and then getting split up. I think I recalled 4 different times the Japanese or their previously splintered Empires got split again.
I took over North America early and the Americas retreated both into South America and into the far north of Canada (where I didn't find them for like 3 thousand years). The Zulu ended up covering all of Africa but it was poorly defended... but they also ended up settling Australia and that ended up being the hardest nut to crack. Ended up settling New Zealand myself and peppering the east coast of Australia with paratroopers and bombers for like 200 years.
By the end it was Saladin owning basically all of Asia and most of Europe with his buddy Eleanor Roosevelt whom I couldn't track down to eliminate. Things got REALLY ugly and dirty towards the end. Basically all the lands from Turkey to Mongolia ended up as polluted skulls after thousands of nuclear missiles and spy nukes had been spent. The global warming event happened at least a half dozen times.
One funny thing was finding the Greeks with cities in Greenland, Madagascar and Hawaii. They really took that whole "greeks are sailors" thing and ran wild.

I think it's because Civ 2 perfectly walked the thin line of "it's complex but still simple". I've tried the later ones and it just ends up being overly complicated. I don't want to play a Sim Game. I want to lazily manage an empire and conquer the world in a turn based environment.

I can't quite remember what was this year and last but definitely.
Spelunky 2 - only the standard end so far, that was hard enough.
Mario 3D world Sayonara Wildhearts
Maybe: Katana Zero Streets of rage 4

77. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
First time playing the N64 version in a long time, last played through the game just last year but it was the 3DS one, which has pretty much been my go-to ever since that version came out. There were definitely some quality of life improvements I found myself missing from that version, but still very much enjoyed it, it is Ocarina of Time and all. It's not my favorite 3D Zelda game and I think there are a lot of things about it that could be done better but it's still an excellent game.

78. Super Mario Land 2
I've fiddled with it before but this was my first time actually doing a complete runthrough of it. It's decent but not really that big a fan of it, prefer the simplicity and kind of willingness to be weird with some of the mechanics in the first Land over it. 2 by comparison feels kind of, "We have Super Mario World at home." It's not bad by any means, glad I finally got around to doing a run of it, but don't think it's going to be something I revisit over and over and over again.
Kudos to the level set right in the middle of a giant statue of Mario where the whole thing is full of giant balls though, that's the kind of humor it's weird to see in a Mario game.

So I'm just about to finish Batman Begins on PS2 for the first time in 16 years, and I think that game doesn't get enough credit for being the forefather of sorts to the Arkham games. Not entirely the same, but a lot of gameplay mechanics that definitely feel like the prototype for Arkham.

79. The Legend of Zelda
Only my second time playing all the way through the first one. It's aged very well for an NES game, though do think that still kind of means it aged pretty poorly; even getting past how directionless it cam be a lot of the map design is very cheap and repetitive. Still, there is a lot of fun to be had with it. I'd call it one of the weakest Zelda games but can definitely see where it's a favorite of some.

80. WWF Betrayal
I dunno, felt like giving it a whirl, been a loooong time since I've played it. Kind of surprised this game doesn't have more of a reputation than it does, not really something you see mentioned in the same breath as similar oddities like WrestleMania 19 and Crush Hour. Maybe it's just since it's kind of decent? It's not great, very basic, but it's really not bad at all. Even if it did mostly put me in the mood to play River City Girls.

81: 8-Bit ADV Steins;Gate
It's an NES stripped down, old school adventure game remake of Steins;Gate, not a lot to really say about it. It's an interesting novelty and does definite capture that appropriate feeling but there isn't exactly a lot of depth to it.

82. Donkey Kong
I wanted to get one more quick thing on the list before closing the year out and so here we are I guess. Had been wanting to try to rush through Corpse Party tonight but there's not really time for it before midnight so maybe it'll be the first thing I beat of the new year, we'll see I guess. Either way, it's Donkey Kong, you know what you're in for. Was specifically playing the Original Edition they put out on the 3DS, because I was dumb enough to buy Sticker Star.

Bit late but this is my final list, I think it’s in the order I finished them as well.
Horizon Zero Dawn (second playthrough) South Park Stick of Truth (second playthrough) South Park Fractured But Whole Astro’s Playroom Resident Evil Village Dishonored Pokémon Sword Pokémon Brilliant Diamond God of War PS4 Lost Judgment Far Cry 6
Pretty basic list, played pretty heavily at the beginning and end of the year but not so much in the middle.
