That is certainly a 1992-ass Survivor Series card lol Kinda weird seeing Bret and Shawn that low on the card, when they main evented irl, but your main event looks like a fun time. Plus, you've got Bret, Owen and Davey Boy teaming up (well, for now...) and that's pretty cool. I felt bad having them lower on the card especially with Bret being World Champion but the two matches above them had a more star power overall and deserved higher billing I thought. Guess I should've added "Card Subject To Change". Especially considering it's Survivor Series which always loves substitutions. I've always found it so strange how every year around October and November wrestlers seem to be more prone to quit, get injured, or get fired. Anyways stay tuned.

News and NotesThe Perfect PartnerIn a shocking turn of events, The Ultimate Warrior will no longer be at the Survivor Series and replacing him on "Macho Man" Randy Savage's team of all people will be Mr. Perfect. After it was found out Warrior was not going to be at Survivor Series, Savage was given 24 hours to find a replacement partner to team with him and the Natural Disasters. On the November 16th Prime Time Wrestling Savage would join via satellite with the usual roundtable crew of Perfect, Bobby Heenan, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Hilbilly Jim, and Vince McMahon in the studio. Savage would state that he had the Perfect Partner in mind and offered Mr. Perfect to be on his team. It was a very outside the box idea to say the least considering for the previous year Perfect has served as the consultant for Ric Flair who is the captain of the team that will be opposing Savage at Survivor Series. Perfect laughed off the offer at first and even Duggan and Hilbilly seemed to be questioning Macho Man's thinking. However as things begin to unravel it turned out Savage's idea was actually a stroke of genius. After all who knows Ric Flair better then Mr. Perfect? Inadvertently helping Savage's cause was Perfect's so called "allies" as Flair, Heenan, and Razor Ramon would unintentionally sway him into accepting Savage's offer by making passive aggressive insults at the flawless one. Heenan on multiple occasions would state that Perfect is "just a manager" now, Ramon would say that Perfect used to be somebody but that he works for them now, and Flair would say that when they walk down the aisle together it's him in front and Perfect behind him. Savage would then continue to stir the pot further by questioning that maybe Perfect was afraid of Ramon, that he was cold living in the shadow of Flair, and that he was under Heenan's thumb while questioning if he had the guts to be his tag team partner. Having his courage questioned would get a rise out of Perfect as he would say he could out wrestle Savage, Flair, and Ramon and that he was now considering the offer much to the annoyance of Heenan. Afterwards Perfect would be needled more by Ramon who said that he had been out of the ring and sitting on his soft behind at an announcer table for a year and that he should know his place. Savage would then say that Perfect was being held back by Flair and that this was his chance to show that he truly is the best. Finally Perfect would make his decision and accept Savage's offer. An irate Heenan would slap Perfect in the face which he would quickly regret as Perfect then grabbed his now former manager by the tie and humiliated him by pouring a pitcher of water over his head. It is now official as at Survivor Series Perfect will join Savage and The Natural Disasters to take on Flair, Ramon, and Money Incorporated. At the moment it seems like Savage has pulled quite a coup by getting such a gifted athlete as well as one of Flair's closest allies on his side especially on such short notice. However Perfect hasn't wrestled a match since last years Survivor Series so it's easy to question how effective he will be especially against the caliber of talent he's going against. Also even more importantly is one must wonder if Perfect can really be trusted? All these questions will be answered November 25th in the ultimate test of survival! Ghost From Rockers PastWhile Shawn Michaels career is now at an all time high with his recent capture of the WWF Intercontinental Championship, it appears that his past could be coming back to haunt him. On the November 14th WWF Superstars, Michaels made his way out for his match. As usual by his side he had "Sensational" Sherri holding up his mirror so the vain new champion could admire his reflection. However this time when Michaels looked in the mirror he looked as if he had just seen a ghost. In the reflection was his former partner Marty Jannetty who hadn't been seen in nearly a year after Michaels betrayed him and threw him head first through The Barber Shop Window. After battering Michaels from pillar to post, Jannetty would take the mirror from Sherri so he could smash Michaels with it to make everything come full circle and get his ultimate revenge. However when Jannetty swung for the fences, Michaels in a disgusting act of cowardice pulled Sherri in front of the blow. Instead of hitting Michaels, Jannetty inadvertently smashed Sherri as Shawn cowardly retreated to the locker room while showing no concern for the woman who is madly in love with him and who had been extremely instrumental in him achieving championship glory. As for Jannetty he will have to wait another day to get retribution on Michaels. And that day could be November 25th at the upcoming Survivor Series. With "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith out of commission, it was announced that Jannetty will take his place on WWF World Champion's Bret "Hitman" Hart team to take on the opposing team captained by you guessed it, Shawn Michaels. DeparturesThe Ultimate Warrior, "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith, and The Mountie are all no longer with the WWF. At the Survivor Series Mr. Perfect will replace Warrior on Randy Savage's team, Marty Jannetty will take the place of Smith on Bret Hart's team, and "Terrific" Terry Taylor will take The Mountie's spot on Shawn Michaels team.

News and NotesNasty Boys: Looking to Bankrupt Money IncorporatedEver since Jimmy Hart started managing Money Incorporated there's many who felt Jimmy Hart was spreading himself too thin considering he already managed another tag team under his management in the Nasty Boys. While Jimmy was able to keep both teams happy for a while inevitably the conflict of interests recently began to rear it's ugly head when he clearly started favoring one team over the other. Perhaps not coincidentally the team he was showing favoritism to was the one with the big bucks. Over the last several months the hottest tag team in the WWF has been the Nasty Boys as they've racked up a series of impressive victories, most notably wins over the super team of "Macho Man" Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior and The Legion of Doom, a team whom it should be pointed out that Money Incorporated was unable to beat at Summerslam '92. The Nasties were clearly the most deserving team of getting a title shot against WWF Tag Team Champions The Natural Disasters and their manager promised he would get them one. However a week before their scheduled title shot Hart announced in an in ring interview with Mean Gene Okerlund that he had changed his mind and it was in fact Money Incorporated getting the title shot instead. Afterwards an angry Knobbs and Sags stormed to the ring to confront the new "number one contenders" and their former manager. After a failed attempt by Money Incorporated to pay off their former stablemates, the Nasties would clear The Million Dollar Man and IRS from the ring before then picking up their treasonous ex manager and throwing him over the top rope on top of them. Eager for even more revenge the Nasties would quickly sign for a match against Money Incorporated for the upcoming PPV event, Saturday Night's Main Event: Blizzard Brawl. On the following weeks episode of WWF Superstars Money Incorporated would defeat The Natural Disasters to recapture the Tag Team Championship after IRS hit Earthquake in the head with his metal briefcase behind the referee's back while the Quake had Dibiase covered and beat. It appeared that the upcoming match between Money Incorporated and The Nasty Boys was now going to be a title bout. However since the match was signed before Money Incorporated won the titles the champions wouldn't have to put their titles on the line which not surprisingly they are not. Obviously Hart knew this which explains why he was so quick to have his team sign for the match. Nonetheless the Nasties still have a chance to get revenge and also further cement themselves as top contenders. However on the other hand a loss could be rather costly as it could knock them out of title contention for quite some time. Beast From The EastAfter a four year absence Bam Bam Bigelow has made his return to the WWF. Weighing close 400 pounds with his entire head tattooed in flames, Bigelow is definitely one of the most intimidating superstars in the WWF. Bam Bam is also one of the most talented as well. Along with being immensely strong, Bigelow also possesses tremendous speed and agility for such a huge man. With all these things going for him the Beast From The East could be a very strong contender for Bret "Hitman" Hart's WWF World Championship. Good To Be KingAnother new arrival to the WWF who could be a title contender is Jerry "The King" Lawler. Claiming to the King of wrestling the Memphis, Tennessee native is a crafty ring veteran who is a legend of the southern wrestling scene, winning countless championships. Inside the squared circle Lawler has a style similar to that of Ric Flair in that he's a very cunning competitor who knows all the tricks of the trade and is a master at breaking the rules without being caught. The King has been brought to the WWF by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan who is trying to get anyone he can find to get revenge for him against his former charge, Mr. Perfect, who recently humiliated him on national television. With Flair, Razor Ramon, and now The King all coming for him there's no doubt that Perfect is a marked man. Making matters worse is Heenan has stated that soon he will also be bringing to the WWF a man known as Narcissus who he claims is beyond perfection. While Perfect had a successful return with his victory at the Survivor Series, if the Brain has his way the flawless one's comeback could be a very short one. News and NotesWalking The Razor's EdgeAfter eight long years Bret "Hitman" Hart through heart and a never say die attitude recently realized his dream by becoming WWF World Champion. In just eight months though Razor Ramon has a good chance of fulfilling that same dream. Since joining the WWF last summer, the self proclaimed Bad Guy has carved out an undefeated record with a long string of impressive victories, most notably over former WWF World Champion "Macho Man" Randy Savage. As a result the Razor has worked his way up to the number one contender position and will get his shot against Hart for the WWF World Championship at the upcoming Royal Rumble. Recently Razor has shown he will stoop to any low to claim what he wants. Including targeting people close to Hart. On a recent episode of WWF Mania while Bret's younger brother, Owen, was in the middle of a sit down interview in the locker with Raymond Rougeau, he was ambushed from out of nowhere by Razor who delivered a savage beating to The Rocket in an attempt to send a message to The Hitman. Bret has got the message loud and clear and according to him it's now become personal between him and Ramon. At the Royal Rumble Hart will have a chance to get even when he puts his title on the line against Razor in what should be a classic encounter. Macho Retiring?"Macho Man" Randy Savage is undoubtedly one of the all time great superstars in the WWF. A former Intercontinental Champion and former two time WWF World Champion the Macho Man has done it all. However recently Savage has gone through some tough times. Both professionally and personally. Savage recently went through a divorce with Miss Elizabeth just only a year after tying the knot. Meanwhile his wrestling career hasn't been going too well either. After losing the WWF World Championship Savage has been in a funk, most notably being soundly defeated on several occasions by Razor Ramon. After his most recent loss to Ramon at Saturday Night's Main Event Blizzard Brawl, "Mean" Gene Okerlund came to ringside to ask Savage about his recent struggles with a despondent Macho Man refusing comment before heading backstage. On the December 26th episode of Superstars Savage agreed to an interview podium where he opened up about his divorce and his declining career and stated that he was contemplating retirement. However while doing so he was ambushed by The Repo Man who knocked Savage off the interview podium and stole his cowboy hat. An angry Savage would challenge Repo Man to a match for the following week. In one of the biggest upsets in WWF history Repo Man would defeat Savage after the Macho Man slipped off the top rope when attempting his flying elbow smash finishing move. While there's no denying Savage is legend, professional wrestling like most sports is a young man's game. While his desire is strong to be champion again, at 39 years old Savage isn't getting any younger and his recent decline could just be a simple case of him being passed by younger, bigger, and stronger wrestlers like Ramon. However there has been one man who has been firmly in Savage's corner through this dark period, and that's the big man from Hawaii, Crush. When Crush first entered the WWF it was Savage who took the promising youngster under his wing and served as a mentor to him. Crush has been extremely grateful for Savage's guidance and friendship and is now deciding to return the favor by starting a campaign encouraging fans to send letters and postcards to Savage to show their support for him and encourage him to stay in the WWF. Time will tell if this support from Crush and the fans will convince Savage to stay. Destined For GreatnessNever before has a new tag team in the WWF has had as much hype as The Steiner Brothers. And for good reason. Both former All American Wrestlers from the University of Michigan, Rick and Scott, are the complete package in the ring. They're very strong, they're very quick and explosive, and with their amateur wrestling background they also possess excellent technique. It appears that these brothers don't have a weakness. In the ring the Steiners have executed extraordianry moves that have never been seen before. Perhaps the most amazing is a move they call the Frankensteiner in which Scott Steiner sends an opponent into the ropes and then leaps into the air before snaring his foe's head with his legs and flipping over to send him head first into the canvas. At the Royal Rumble the Steiners will get their first real test when they take on another brother team, the Beverly Brothers. Reforming The MonsterAfter losing the casket match at Survivor Series, Kamala recently endured a lot of abuse from his own managers, Kim Chee and Harvey Wippleman. While a big and powerful the Ugandan Giant isn't exactly a mental giant as he's often struggled with figuring out the rules to professional wrestling, most notably often struggling to figure out how to execute a pinfall by trying to cover with the opponent laying on his stomach instead of his back. Frustrated with Kamala's failure against The Undertaker, Wippleman implored handler Kim Chee to show "tough love" by being more aggressive in his treatment of Kamala, constantly yelling at him and even slapping him. Watching afar was the Reverend Slick who was disgusted at how this gentle giant was being treated. With Slick's encouragement Kamala recently decided he had enough of the abuse and attacked Kim Chee before chasing the handler and Wippleman to the back. With Slick in his corner as well the support of the fans, Kamala will have a chance to unleash years of pent up frustration when he goes one on one with Kim Chee at Royal Rumble. No Carlos Colon or Genichiro Tenryu in the Rumble? Give that youngster a chance! IDK he's still such a youngster. Fiery for sure but still a youngster nonetheless. I don't think he's ready brother. As far as Tenryu goes I don't want to pay somebody to walk around the ring aimlessly and constantly get in every one else's way when they're trying to do spots all the while always having a bored expressionless look on his face.

News and NotesMacho Madness Back In Full ForceIt was only just one month ago "Macho Man" Randy Savage was contemplating retirement. Now he's on his way to the main event of Wrestlemania to challenge for the WWF World Championship. After encouragement from the fans and his protege Crush, Savage decided not to retire and entered himself into the 30 Man Royal Rumble Match. This would prove to be a wise decision on Savage's part as he would end up winning the match and now has an opportunity to become champion for a third time. However although Savage has a title shot for the biggest show of the year, there's still a few thorns in his side that he wants to take care of before April 4th. The Macho Man has already taken care of one of those thorns with his recent thrashing of The Repo Man. While Savage was going through his crisis of confidence Repo Man decided to kick The Macho Man while he was down by ambushing him and taking his cowboy hat. Then the following week Repo Man scored an upset victory over Savage. However in the rematch it was a complete different Macho Man. Savage immediately pounced on Repo Man from the opening bell and dominated him the whole match before scoring an easy win with his patented flying elbow smash off the top rope. However there's still one more demon that Savage has to exorcise before Wrestlemania. Savage has been at odds with Razor Ramon for quite some time now. The ruthless Cuban's interference cost Macho Man the WWF World Championship last September. On top of that Ramon defeated Savage in both of the two matches that they've had. Ramon is bigger, stronger, and younger then Savage and there's many skeptics who don't think Savage has what it takes any more to beat him. However with his refound confidence this is a different Randy Savage. At the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event PPV Savage will have a chance to prove those sceptics wrong when he goes one on one with Ramon. The Man In The Mirror: Is Luger Truly Beyond Perfection? After months of hype Bobby "The Brain" unveiled his new protege at the Royal Rumble and it is none other then "Narcissus" Lex Luger. Standing 6'5" and weighing 275 pounds with an incredible physique that looks like it's carved out of stone, Luger looks the part of a Greek God. Luger has made his intentions clear right off the bat and that he's going right after Mr. Perfect who recently kicked Heenan to the curb and embarrassed him. While Perfect was successful in driving Ric Flair out of the WWF he will now have to deal with a more powerful and dangerous foe in Luger. While the WWF definitely has had it's share of conceited individuals over the years, Luger takes arrogance to a higher level, even having a giant mirror set up before his matches so he can pose and admire his own looks and physique. In the three matches he's had so far Luger was victorious in quick and dominant fashion. However what is suspicious about all of victory's is that they've all come via a simple running forearm. It is strange that such a rudimentary move would be able to net three wins in a row even throw by someone as strong as Luger. While you could dismiss the first match as the opponent just simply of having a glass jaw, him then using it to win his next two matches as well has raised some suspicions. Luger has claimed that he is beyond perfection and that comparing him to Mr. Perfect is like comparing apples to oranges or ice cream to horse manure. At the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event it will be seen if Luger can back up his cocky words when he teams with Jerry "The King" Lawler to take on Perfect and WWF World Champion Bret "Hitman" Hart in a tag team confrontation. Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum I Smell The Blood Of A DeadmanHarvey Wippleman promised a BIG surprise at the Royal Rumble and he wasn't kidding. Wippleman arrived with the close to 8 foot tall Giant Gonzalez who is by far the tallest athlete in the history of the WWF, standing even over a half foot bigger then what the late great Andre The Giant was. Despite not being an official participant, Gonzalez came down to the ring during the Royal Rumble match and proceeded to manhandle The Undertaker and throw him over the top rope with ease before launching a vicious assault outside the ring in which for the first time in his career the Dead Man looked vulnerable. Wippleman blames Undertaker for ruining has last charge, Kamala, and has brought in Gonzalez for revenge. Prior to the arrival of Gonzalez, Undertaker was the tallest man in the WWF at a towering 6'10". However next to Gonzalez the Undertaker looks like almost like a little kid as he remarkably is a whole foot shorter then the Giant from the Andes Mountains. Wippleman has had a tough time finding opponents for Gonzalez as due to his enormous size the majority of the wrestlers haven't been too eager about signing their names on the dotted line to face him in the ring. However there's one man who for sure isn't afraid of Gonzalez and that's The Undertaker. With his incredible high threshold for pain and the mysterious power of the urn, the Grim Reaper will look to chop the Giant down to size the next time they meet. However doing so will undoubtedly be a VERY tall order. DeparturesRic Flair, Earthquake, Marty Jannetty, and Lance Cassidy are all no longer with the WWF. Jannetty's last appearance was at the Royal Rumble when he unsuccessfully challenged Shawn Michaels for the Intercontinental Champion. Cassidy's last appearance was also in a loss to Michaels on the first episode of Monday Night Raw on January 11th. Flair's last appearance was the January 25th Monday Night Raw where he lost a Loser Leaves Town Match to Mr. Perfect. Earthquake's last appearance was the February 13th WWF Superstars where he was defeated by Bam Bam Bigelow. RankingsSinglesBret "Hitman" Hart: WWF World Champion(c) 234, Calgary, Alberta 1. News and NotesThe Mega ManiacsIn the mid to late 1980's one of the premier superstars in the WWF was Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. The Barber was a charismatic fan favorite who strutted and cutted his way into the hearts of fans worldwide. Not only was he popular but Beefcake was also a gifted wrestler who it seemed got better and better with each passing year. By 1990 it looked like Beefcake had put everything together and was ready to move into the upper echelon of the WWF superstars. Unfortunately in July of that year Beefcake's stellar career would be put on hold when he was involved in a parasailing accident in which is skull was shattered. Not only was Beefcake's professional career now in jeopardy but he was struggling in his personal life as well. Shortly before the accident both of his parents had passed away and he was also just going through a divorce. As Beefcake lied in a hospital bed ready to give up he would get encouragement from the man who had always been there for him, that being his long time friend "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan. While Beefcake had his face surgically repaired and was going through the recovery The Hulkster was by his side every step of the way, encouraging him not to give up while letting him know that he and the Hulkamaniacs were behind him all the way. After two and a half years out of action Beefcake would announce on the February 1st Monday Night Raw that he was returning to active competition in the WWF and issued an open challenge for the following Raw. Despite still being in great physical condition it was undoubtedly a very risky move considering all the damage that had been done to his face. WWF Tag Team Champions "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase and Irwin R. Schyster scoffed at Beefcake issuing an open challenge after such a long layoff with Dibiase then accepting Beefcake's challenge for the following Raw. Money Incorporated's manager Jimmy Hart voiced his displeasure with this saying that it was a waste of time and that they instead should be focusing more on their upcoming Tag Team Championship defense against The Nasty Boys. Dibiase assured Hart that there was nothing to worry about and that the match with Beefcake would be just a warm up. Beefcake would show no signs of ring rust in his return match as he dominated Dibiase for most of their match. It then looked The Barber was on his way to victory when he applied his patented sleeper hold which he had won so many matches with in the past. However then Dibiase's partner, IRS, would run into the ring and attack Beefcake to draw a disqualification. Money Incorporated would then beat down Beefcake two against one before Dibiase held The Barber up while IRS measured him with his metal briefcase to deliver a blow to his surgically repaired face. Even Jimmy Hart whose character has often been questioned during his long WWF career, thought Dibiase and IRS were going too far and tried to get them to stop. IRS would throw Hart out of the ring and then level Beefcake in the face with the briefcase. Beefcake with his face bleeding was helped to the back by Hart and officials for medical attention. Meanwhile watching in Venice Beach, California was Hulk Hogan. As it says in Hogan's theme song "Real American" when you hurt his friends he won't let it slide, and there was no way he was going to let Dibiase and IRS get away with what they did. On the following weeks Raw Hogan would have an in ring interview with Vince McMahon in which he discussed watching the previous week’s match between Brutus and Dibiase, then noted that Beefcake would be OK. Hogan then thanked God and Jimmy Hart for the fact Beefcake wasn’t injured further, and said he was back in the WWF, and then called for Beefcake to join him in the ring. Moments later, Beefcake came out, wearing sunglasses and a heavily taped nose, showing bruising around his eyes. Beefcake said he couldn’t wait to face Money Inc., with Hogan then introducing Hart as he and Beefcake’s new manager. Hart then appeared and said it was the greatest day of his life, as he had long idolized Hogan, and that Hulk and Beefcake would be the greatest tag team of all time. Hogan coined the name of the team as the Mega Maniacs and said they were after Money Incoporated. At Wrestlemania IX The Mega Maniacs will get their shot at Money Inc. when the two teams collide for the WWF Tag Team Championship. No Clowning AroundStarting last October a mysterious clown began appearing in the audience at WWF events. However it became quickly clear that this wasn't a typical clown. Clowns are supposed to make children smile and laugh. This clown likes to make children cry. This clown finds humor in the misfortune of others. The clown, who was eventually revealed to be named Doink, has been playing mean pranks on both fans and wrestlers for months. These pranks included tripping The Big Boss Man with a tripwire, "accidentally" poking Tatanka in the eye with a mop, and dumping water on Marty Jannetty. However there was one superstar who wasn't going to put up with Doink's jokes. After scoring another victory in the ring, Crush would confront the evil clown in the aisle way as he was messing with fans in the audience. Doink would then hit Crush in the face with a ball. Crush would then grab the clown by his arm before issuing him a warning about doing anything like that again. However Doink would not head Crush's warning. If anything it seemed like it just fueled the clown to mess with the big Hawaiian even further. At the Royal Rumble Crush would find himself among one of the last six men in the ring and in a good position to potentially win the match. However then Doink would appear with arm in a sling and begin taunting the Original Hawaiian Punch, distracting him long enough for Bam Bam Bigelow to dump him out from behind and eliminate him. Doink had cost Crush the chance of going to Wrestlemania and becoming WWF World Champion. However just one week later Crush would have more to worry about then just going to Wrestlemania. After Crush had defeated another opponent Doink would once again appear with his arm in a sling. This time though Doink would give Crush a flower while issuing an apology in an apparent attempt to bury the hatchet. Crush would reluctantly accept the apology. However when he turned his back Doink would rip a loaded prosthetic arm out of the sling and use it to bludgeon Crush, viciously bashing him in the head with it repeatedly. An unconscious Crush would then have to taken out on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance and taken to the nearest hospital. Crush suffered a serious concussion from the attack and will be out of action for two months. Fortunately Crush has been recovering quicker then expected from the injury and is scheduled to be back at Wrestlemania IX where he will try to get revenge against Doink in a grudge match. However one must wonder what more tricks the demented clown will have up his sleeve? Tatanka: Can He Win When It Counts?Being able to go unbeaten in your first year in the WWF is undoubtedly quite an accomplishment that very few men have been able to accomplish. One of the men to do so is popular fan favorite Tatanka. Since joining the WWF a year ago exactly, the undefeated Native American has tomahawk chopped his way through all competition thrown his way and has now worked his way to the doorstep of championship glory as at Wrestlemania IX he will get his first opportunity to win a title in the WWF when he takes on Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels. Tatanka is going into the match incredibly confident as he knows that he can defeat Michaels as he already has done so on two separate occasions. Last October the WWF held a sixteen man single elimination King of the Ring tournament in Providence, Rhode Island. It would end up coming down to Tatanka and Michaels in the finals with the Native American emerging triumphant, catching the Heartbreak Kid with his patented End of the Trail fireman's carry slam to secure the victory. Michaels would capture the Intercontinental Championship later in the month from "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith but in the back of his mind he knew that sooner later Tatanka would be knocking on his door for a title shot. Then on the February 22nd episode of Monday Night Raw Tatanka would further cement himself as top contender when he teamed with The Nasty Boys to defeat Michaels and The Beverly Brothers in a six man tag team match after pinning the arrogant champion in the middle of the ring once again. Tatanka has proven he can beat Michaels. However the question is can he do it when the title is on the line at the biggest show of the year? Going by recent events it would be easy to think so. However there are a few things to keep in mind. Tatanka is a young man who is still basically only a rookie in the WWF. While Michaels is young as well he's also a lot more experienced then Tatanka and has been in more bigger matches and events then the Native American superstar. Also working against Tatanka is the law of average. As impressive as his undefeated streak has been he's not going to be unbeaten forever. At some point he's going to lose and with the level of competition in the WWF it's unlikely he's going to go through another year with an unblemished record. Wrestlemania IX will be held in Las Vegas this year and if you are a betting man this is a contest that would be pick'em in that it's such an even matchup that neither man could be considered a favorite. However one thing you can predict is that it will be a tremendous match between two of the young future stars of the WWF who likely be pillars of the federation through the 1990's. Hacksaw: Down But Not OutWhen Yokozuna first debuted in the WWF his manager Mr. Fuji boasted that no American athlete could knock the Japanese bohemoth off of his feet. At the Royal Rumble though there was one proud American who would prove the devious one wrong. Yokozuna proved to be extremely dominant in the Royal Rumble as after entering the match he would proceed to eliminate five men with no one really even being able to put a dent in the 505 pounder. It looked like victory and a Wrestlemania World Title shot was a mere formality for the former sumo Grand Champion. That is until "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan entered the ring. Showing no fear Duggan would go right after Yokozuna, taking the fight straight to the big man with heavy right hands before nailing him with a series of clotheslines that left the monstrous superstar dazed and staggering. Duggan would then line up in his patented three point stance before exploding with a hard clothesline that dropped the mighty Yokozuna with a huge thud. Duggan had done what it looked like nobody could do, he had knocked Yokozuna off of his feet. When Yokozuna regained his composure Duggan would quickly seize the opportunity by leading the charge with a group of five other wrestlers to dump the giant out of the ring and eliminate him from the match. Afterwards Fuji would state that Duggan's knockdown of his charge didn't count since Yokozuna was tired after having to fight off several other men before Duggan got to the ring. Fuji then added that Duggan would not be able to knock Yokozuna down in a one on one setting. Once again Duggan would prove his advisories wrong. Except this time it would come with a heavy price. On the February 5th Superstars of Wrestling Duggan took on Yokozuna in a Knockdown Challenge. The stipulations of the challenge were Duggan would get five opportunities to knock down Yokozuna. If Duggan failed in his five attempts then Yokozuna would be deemed the winner. On his first attempt Duggan wouldn't come close to knocking Yokozuna down as he bounced off the sumo star like a rubber ball and was knocked on his rear end. Hacksaw's next three attempts would also be unsuccessful but with each attempt Yokozuna was noticeably getting knocked off balance more and more. Finally on his fifth and final attempt with all of the fans and all of America cheering him on Duggan would knock the big oak tree down, sending mighty Yokozuna down flat on his back. With all of the fans cheering him on Duggan would celebrate his great victory by waving the American Flag. Proving to be ever the sore loser an embarrassed Yokozuna would then take some salt from Fuji's bucket before throwing it in Duggan's eyes. Blinded from the salt Duggan was helpless and at the mercy of Yokozuna who launched a ruthless assault, crushing the proud American with a belly to belly suplex, a legdrop, and four Banzai Splashes. Adding insult to injury in a disgusting display Yokozuna draped the American Flag over Duggan before hitting the fourth Banzai Drop. The capacity crowd which had been defening with cheers just minutes earlier was now hushed with silence. Yokozuna would eventually leave with fans booing and spitting at him for his despicable actions. Duggan bleeding from the mouth would be taken from the ring on a stretcher. Duggan suffered serious internal injuries from the attack and was even considering retirement. However the Hacksaw has never been one to go down with a fight and has now decided to "pull himself up by the boot straps" and return to the ring to avenge himself, his family, and his country. Hacksaw will get his chance at Wrestlemania IX when him and Yokozuna collide once again. Will Duggan get his revenge or will the foreign menace put him on the shelf once again, only this time possibly for good? DeparturesMax Moon and The Berzerker are both no longer with the WWF.
