There was never any intention to bring them in as wrestlers, no.

The Child, aka Hide and Go Kill (1977) - spooky little regional film about a little girl who can command zombies, and sends them exact revenge on people who have wronged her.
Since El Pollo mentioned Dark Night of the Scarecrow in the above post, will also mention Scarecrows from the late 80s.

Not allowing Elmer and Sam to use guns is a pointless but if censorship. But it’s also pointless to try to make new Looney Tunes. You simply can’t recreate that once in history combination of writers, animators, and voice actors. It’s been tried more than once and never works out. Same for the Muppets. That once in history combination lasted 40 years and none of the people involved were ever all there at the exact same time. It wasn't some magical year of productivity or the like. IIRC in the Gold Key/Whitman Bugs Bunny comics Elmer was a farmer most of the time. Oh, originally Elmer Fudd was absolutely not a hunter in any way - even the design was completely different, he looked like a WC Fields sort of goof - but that changed in the '50s to what we know him as today. Elmer originally started off as a character called Egghead, who looked this at first (1937): ![](https://i.pinimg.com/236x/80/ff/5a/80ff5a8c28ba482e02de27a5bca74baf.jpg) He was redesigned a little and used as a hunter in Daffy's first appearance, still as Egghead (1938): ![](https://s3.amazonaws.com/intanibase/iad_characters/299.jpg) He was first called Elmer Fudd in "A Feud There Was" while still using the original Egghead design (also 1938): ![](https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ri9Ni1z5lso/UJV_QweU9EI/AAAAAAAAJFA/o7hooYqv1z4/s1600/Screen+Shot+2012-11-03+at+20.07.43.png) He became the Elmer Fudd we know (but as a nature photographer, not a hunter) in "Elmer's Candid Camera" while still wearing Egghead's clothes (1940): ![](https://46.media.tumblr.com/d3e44ca861d60ffd73315e8fbd7dc1f2/tumblr_mxlp47kKeO1s4rha3o8_250.gif) Three or four cartoons starring him later, he finally became a hunter, in "A Wild Hare" (1940): ![](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/eb/41/84/eb4184360799703c9b44ca614bbb075e.jpg) For a very brief time a couple of years later (1941-42), five cartoons were made that used Arthur Q Bryan's physical shape for Elmer. This look was quickly abandoned and he was returned back to "normal": ![](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/O3HcTXeOxv4/hqdefault.jpg)

I thought we couldn’t say bad things about Mauro. Remember. He got bullied and we were all pissed about that. Don't do this again.

Well, if they're living together, then it's her pool too. And she still works for them. Ryder sounds kinda bitter, and a little bit misogynistic here. And I'm a fan of his too - I just watched a four and a half hour video of him talking about Hasbro wrestling figures. hahahahahahahaha oh wait your serious HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Unnecessary. This isn't how we respond to one another here.

Twiggy Ramirez (not the Manson bandmember but based somewhat on him)
Glen Osborne
"Main Event" Mike Foxx. Top Texas guy but far as he went outside of that was kissing Raven's foot on an episode of Heat.
The Lost Boys (Wolfe and Yar)
Ace Darling
Onyx
Lazz

After his return from injury, Buff Bagwell was primed to be one of the biggest things ever for WCW. Yes, he turned face for a 5-minute swerve, but that stupidity is pretty much where everyone gave up on him. Had he and WCW taken it seriously, he would have been their next DDP. Instead, he just went right back to being NWO member #14.

I'm seriously starting to rethink a few things on how to handle these types of threads, and it's really starting to lean into the "let the people defending it go play somewhere else" territory.
If you're going to show your ass on here, start by not. And then continue to not.

Is there any chance we could get a 'changelog' on the Rules threads whenever things are changed? I see that the 'House Rules' were updated fairly recently, but I'm having a little difficulty seeing the specifics of what was changed. Been through it a few times so I'm assuming it was just wording to cover more ground, but providing a quick synopsis of what was added would benefit those of us who have been here for a while IMO. I'll look into something of that nature. Basically, what got updated were some of the pinned threads that have been up the last few months (banned newz sources, spamming live show threads with images, etc) being integrated into them so the pinned threads could be removed.

Been tempted for years to collect all of the 70s comic company Atlas/Seaboard. Checked my data base I got 60 percent of the comics they made and 0% of the magazines. Anyone else into collecting all the comics a company put out? Into it? Yes, in theory. Doing so? Not so much these days. Plenty of smaller companies out there from the past I'd love to have complete runs of but that day has to wait for while. There was a point between their inception up through around 2000-2001 where I owned every single thing Image put out. Every non-Image book their characters crossed over into, anything quasi-related to them. Then I just...stopped. Got rid of most all of it. Atlas/Seaboard is a good one to go for in terms of completing. Some very neat stuff in there.

Mongo is pawn in game of life That Mongo was a better wrestler than this one. Not as many accomplishments on the football field though, and not as many titles in wrestling but a better wrestler.

Wasn't the chain of command: -Flagg -Hawk -Duke -Flint -Beach Head It changed as new characters were introduced. Early on, Stalker was the field leader before Duke was created/introduced. Truthfully, the hierarchy of the team was always a little jumbled. As they were an "elite" team built out of recruits from different sectors of the military as well as a number that were never technically military, their ranks and status pre-Joe team were not really held to once on the team.

Somebody explain something for me. Why is it in the Lio Rush thread in the main WWE forums racial discrimination can be talked about and yet when it comes to current matters, even ones where we have clarification, it can't be introduced? As a black man, I'm going to say it sounds horrible that we can have that Lio thread up when it can be seen as negative towards him with everything going on and it can be talked about and yet when it comes to what's happening today, we have to be silent. That's a horrible horrible look. I've been thinking a lot about this post today. I've been thinking a lot about this topic this week. And I'm not sure I have the right answers. From day one, I have done everything I can to make this place a safe haven of sorts. A place where people could talk about wrestling and other things and didn't have to worry about the toxicity of social media and other, larger platforms. Didn't have to worry about trolls and hate and all that come with it. It was supposed to be a complete escape from the "real world." And now the real world has knocked on the door. With the Lio Rush situation, it's one of those things that comes at us from two different angles - the discussion of archaic and outdated traditions in the business, and how it overlaps/connects/reflects the racism that is still very prevalent in this country. Here's the easy part for me to say - we've never shied away from threads about racism and the majority of us calling it out. From Hogan to Jordan Myles to Lars Sullivan to that Hume dumbass a couple of months ago that was training for a career. We've never swept that under the political "no talk" rug, ever. Here's the not-so-easy part for me to say - I honestly don't know what to do now. I locked that thread for the time being, maybe for good. No, I don't feel it's right to let that go while not talking about the protesters and the police brutality going on, the political machinations going on, the number of wrestlers and other celebrities who are showing their true, ugly selves for all to see on social media. They are hand and parcel with one another. We *should* be talking about all of it. But this board isn't where it needs to be. It just isn't. We aren't equipped to handle it. Not the way it needs to be handled and addressed. On the streets, on social media, those are the places that need to be hearing your/our voices. Where it truly matters. I'm sorry. I don't know what else to do on this.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan - Brawl to the back Duggan jobbed a lot more often than history remembers. He had a few high profile moments of pulling that, but Jim knew when to lay down, for the most part.

And I think that's where we end this discussion for now. I have a lot of thoughts on it but not where I can talk at the moment.
