I have to wonder if this was during the point in time when the WWF steroid scandals were going down and Vince was prepping Jarrett to run the company if he went to prison. If so, Jerry was likely being "proactive" in getting his own guys ready to bring into the promotion if that happened. Lol the only guy he wanted to feature was his son. That's not entirely true. Jeff had already gone to the WWF at this point and Jerry was sending a number of his workers Vince's way afterward.

Yeah Memphis was always terrible pay unless you were top/top. Dutch Mantell probably had the best quote ever on it. Jerry Jarrett came into the locker room once and said something to the effect of "Get off the gas if you are on it, guys." Mantell replied, "Jerry, the way you pay us, we aren't on food." I have no idea what inspired Jarrett to think his guys were roiding or why they needed to get off of them all of a sudden, but yeah, sums it up pretty well. Can the rule about wrestlers and politically based tweets get extended to other athletes as well? I've added a twinned post of it in the Sports board.

This is a reminder that the Politics Rule is still in effect. I understand with all that is going on, there is a lot of sports athletes, teams and related entities that have something to say, not all of it very good. Please do not post, post about, or allude to those that have taken to their Twitter/Facebook/whatever to let their poor takes on the matter seep out into the world. This is not the place for it. If you feel strongly enough about those saying these things, take it to the platforms they emanate from.
Thank you.

Would it be ok to make a post about old cigarette commercials? Thank you for asking in advance. It shouldn't be a problem with this caveat - it has to strictly pertain to TV ads from prior to the 1971 ban. No print ads, anything more recent (from wherever something like that may still exist), etc.

Really? I like Seth but never once have I had the impression that he was the guy Vince wanted to usher in a new boom period. I never even thought he was the one they were backing as “THE guy” for an extended period of time. He's the most pushed wrestler since Cena. Pushed more than Brock or Roman? No, sorry.

But I finally got those elusive La Resistance figures I never knew I wanted! among the figures though where these ![](https://i.imgur.com/qxEXBOB.jpg) Two bootlegs from Mannix made in the style of Hasbro of Shawn Michaels and Diesel (who never got a Hasbro figure) just thought they where cool unexpected additions to my collection Always neat to see Mannix found in the wild. I picked up my only one (the Adam Bomb-looking one) at a local toy store here 3-4 years ago for something like two bucks.

I mean, is it a perfect show? Of course it isn't, but I don't think that it deserves the scorn that it gets, Season 1 was a genuinely fantastic ride and helped me realise how awesome characters like Korra, who are just headstrong brawlers, are especially in comparison to Aang; also you have brilliant characters like Varrick and BeiFong and JK Simmons absolutely killing it as Tenzin. But it seems like most videos on Korra are talking about how bad it is, with people talking about things that, let's be real, nobody gives a flying f*** about; when it's like people get a YouTube account and every Tom, Dick and Harry thinks that they're Roger Ebert, as if that means that they know what they're talking about? Part of me wonders if people dislike Korra for no other reason than because it's not Aang...I mean, in fairness, Avatar: Last Airbender was an amazing show, so Korra had some big shoes to fill and, even though it certainly had it's downsides, I don't think it's as atrocious as some people think it is and I think it was a damn good follow-up to a great show like Last Airbender. Geordie, we didn't get to that "posting new threads" thing yet, but disregarding that for the moment, I want to urge you to find a better way to bring up the things you want to talk about rather than making it a divisive effort from the start. You don't don't have to start discussions with "Why does everyone hate..." or "Why is there such a backlash..." Just talk about the things you like. Don't worry about the people who don't like it. It's wasted energy and it only sets up your discussion for clapback and defensive counterarguments. Thank you.

Bryan Alvarez reported that he got a message from someone who was there at the show (he didn't elaborate further if it was a worker, an NXT crowd member or other) that "1000 percent Nia's fault, she needs to be f***ing fired"
Bryan and Meltzer then discuss their thoughts on the spot, with the consensus being they were too close to the stairs and Kari was thrown too fast/hard for her to adjust properly.

The make-up job was fair game for discussion, as WWE has a professional team for that.
Once this devolved into just her looks on general, it was a no-go.

I've opted not to reopen the original thread made before the incident aired but rather start a new one. You can discuss this here.
With all said, I am in no mood to coddle the histrionics of some posters who tend to turn their dials to 11 on things like this. Only word of warning on that matter.
