There was a Raw in 1997 where a scheduled HBK/Flash Funk match saw Kane destroy Flash before the match, then HBK swoop in for the win. He then celebrated longer than he did at WM 12.

Oh hey, John Cena and Sheamus have both played a Ninja Turtles villain character now. The same character at that!

I wonder what have happened if someone did shoot slam Yoko, would they pull something out of their butt to claim it didnt count or something? Could someone shoot slam him? I mean... Dude was huge. And strong. It would be pretty hard to shoot bodyslam an average-size person unless you’re incredibly strong. It’s an easy position for the person getting slammed to block or simply go dead weight. Add in Yoko’s weight and sheer size and I’d imagine it would be impossible to slam him if he didn’t want to go up. Just getting him up off his feet would be a huge deal.

I imagine Rock isn't going to comment on the strike one way or the other because on one hand even with his recent missteps he's savvy enough to know that being outspoken against the strike would look really bad on him but on the other I doubt he wants to actually throw around any pro-union sentiments given the XFL for some idiot reason already voted to not unionize and he probably doesn't want to encourage them to change their minds. I’d bet a crisp $5 bill Rock has “Run a major studio” written on his vision board. He already made a play to take over the DC movies, that was probably step 1. So he’s probably just going to know his role and shut his mouth during the strike’s duration.

Even if the feud was booked perfectly, you’d still have to overcome their completely clashing in-ring styles and Kidman’s lack of charisma.
So I’m going to say nothing would’ve ever made this work.

It’s amazing that by the time he won the title some 8 months after his debut, Big Show had already gone from heel to face to heel to face and would turn heel again 2 months later.

I didn’t watch this show but I did watch that Rumble and was legitimately concerned Goldberg was going to just keel over walking up the ramp after his 5 minute match.

I’ve read before that Ruby actually prefers always putting people over and if that’s her take, fine. But I’m reminded of a quote from either Foley or Bret’s book about the fine line you have to walk between “I’ll do business” and “I’ll always be ready to lose” because eventually the promoter will only see you in that role. So if Ruby ever does decide “No, I’d like to be champ now” (similar to Becky Lynch’s mindset switch before she became The Man) she may have dug the hole too deep.

I wish this show was just dialogue scenes between characters because all the regular MCU stuff isn't interesting at all. Just let me watch actors act and react to each other. Yeah, I agree with this. It’s a very engaging show when it’s just two folk talkin’, but the actual main plot and everything else is just okay I thought Ms Marvel was a terrific story about a Pakistani-American teen finding her own voice while remaining true to her culture with some really lame superhero action slapped in every once in awhile.

Joel Gertner’s “Weighing in at a buff, cut, ripped, chiseled and jaaaacked (some ridiculously low cruiserweight)” intro of D-Von Dudley was a good one.

I just realized that Logan Paul is Zack Morris except a real guy. When is he gonna randomly discover his roots as a Native American? Right after him and Miz discover oil on the football field behind Titan Towers.

I was actually at the Raw that aired opposite this episode. It was taped the week before, 2 nights after the KOTR with the Taker/Foley cell match. Even at the top of the arena, you could tell just walking was a heroic feat for Foley. It also had the DX Nation parody which has thankfully been scrubbed from history. And then I watched the episode the next week to see how it was different live and on TV (The Nation did a run-in after the parody live btw).
Anyway, that’s the convoluted way of saying I’ve never actually seen this match. Just clips of the ending.

And the "hard drop" turned out to be finishing eighth, averaging just under two grand per theatre. In it's third week. And with a new Insidious movie out this weekend and Mission: Impossible out next weekend, there's a very good chance it'll be out of the top ten by the fifth week. At the current trend, I'm pretty sure a fifth week in theaters would actually start losing WBD money. It’s down to one screening in my huge Regal theater this weekend. Not one screen. One SCREENING. In its fourth week.

I still maintain that a well timed and executed fart joke is at the pinnacle of comedy. Writers/comedians/people in general don't adhere to the "well timed and executed" part. Damn near 99% of encountered bathroom humor jokes are neither well timed nor well executed. But man... when one hits the right note at the right time? It's magical. Along those lines, I was just reading an article about Mel Brooks and the person was stating the case that he’s one of the great American film auteurs. He just happened to make masterpieces that were really silly.

Got a pretty obscure one: former AWA women’s wrestler The Magnificent Mimi is in Gangs of New York. She’s in Priest Vallon’s gang in the opening scene and gets dispatched by Bill the Butcher himself.

Way too young. Ron Simmons definitely has the voice but again too young. "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd I think would work. “People will come, Ray…but they’re a buncha no-good whiskey drinkers!!”
