310/6’8″<313√543/313 = HULK DOWN!
Literally one of my favorite things in wrestling. RIP.

*muffin eating intensifies* (my Rumble watching situation at the moment) I mean, you got coffee, muffins, and the place is presumably a comfortable temp. What more can you ask for.

That was a pretty amusing write up.
And that picture of him and Hogan with his trunks half down will haunt me in my nightmares for years to come.

As a kid who didn't know, or really care, about needing to attract crowds in certain markets, he was always a mystery to me. Like why is this old fat guy on tv.

Once Austin and The Rock left, I won't say it faded into obscurity or anything, but that was its peak. At least in my lifetime.
Ok, there's probably two peaks in my lifetime. The Hogan era (I'd say 87-90) and the prime Attitude era (say 97-02). Other than that it's always been a bit niche. Now I can see arguments against that, but my totally unscientific proof is during those two times my mom knew who those guys were (at least Hogan and Rock), and I would see shirts all the time that were wrestling related. Not anymore.

Next thing is going to be that telephone booth boxing thing right? I was thinking Chess Boxing. Why is it I've been on this planet for 45 years and have never heard of this until now.

I never thought I could have a lower opinion of Dana White, yet here we are.

Part of me finds that hard to believe, but the other part of me has seen so much soulless corporate reasoning in my life that it isn't that hard to believe.

I just always wonder how Taylor kept getting hired since most of the time I just hear guys crap all over him (and that he was kind of an a-hole) But, he always seemed to find work. Even if it was in atrocious gimmicks. To this day dude finds jobs backstage, which leads me to believe he’s a world class yes man. lol He probably is a big fan of the tried and true "kiss up and kick down" philosophy that so many jerks ascribe to in life.

Bob Backlund trying to make Darren Young great again springs to mind and that's only cause I was recently looking at the Battleground 2016 matchcard and saw Young vs Miz on there, prompting a bit of a crisis as I was 100% I remembered everything, but there we are. I saw an 8-man match where Darren Young was managed by Bob. (Same card where Sami Zayn was bumped from a 4-way main event with champ AJ Styles, Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens for...some reason.) Bob worked his frickin' ass off at ringside! Was that where he was going to "Make Darren Young Great Again," or am I just totally hallucinating that was a thing.

I still like MJF better, but Swerve went from a guy who seemed just like another dude to me too one that is absolute gold. Kudos on him for really rising to the occasion.

93 is the year that comes to mind, mostly because it was the last of Hogan there for many years. Granted, to me he was pretty much WWF so when he left it just felt really different.

Rock is the best I've ever heard.
And it's not because his material was great, it's just the guy had the gift where he could read the phone book and it would be gold.
Yeah, I know phone books don't exist anymore.

In some ways, I think he'll be remembered like Warrior. A difficult to deal with asshole dickwipe narcissist who was also undeniably over. That's a great comparison. Not perfect, but only because a perfect one doesn't exist. Like I don't expect to see Punk at a college campus ranting about the gays or bashing a city after it was hit by a hurricane or anything, but still, the general points are spot on.

I'd be up for a Punk heel run, but only because wrestling to me is more fun when there's someone I actively dislike in it.
Just like sports. My two favorite teams to watch in sports are my favorite team to see them win, and the team I hate the most to see them lose.
That said, I get the people who are sick of him or feel he crossed a line or whatever. All which are perfectly valid opinions.

How does he go from saying "he's on a one year contract, he's most likely leaving" to "oh yeah, he's on a three year contract, soooooooo...." I always rolled my eyes a bit at Bruce Prichard's hatred of Meltzer (yeah, I know part of it's an act but still) and that he's a massive liar and everything, but then you get crap like this where I don't want to call him a liar, but at the same time I don't want to call him a journalist either.
