I think it was before the 1988 Rumble, Andre jumps Hogan after a match and is just choking the life out of him. A bunch of faces run out to try to pull Andre off, can’t do it. Hacksaw Duggan comes out and cracks the 2x4 in half over Andre’s back. Andre finally drops Hogan and turns towards Hacksaw in a half-annoyed/half-murderous way and Duggan flees from the ring.

1994 when Macho Man arrived to halt Diesel’s rampage. While a never-before-seen path of destruction it was, Diesel was mainly tossing jobbers like Virgil and the Smokin’ Gunns out of the ring. The crowd went nuts for a real star coming out to stop this goon. They even had a great camera shot of Diesel giving the “Ohh shit!” look on the video wall as Macho Man comes out.

Padres. They’re not afraid to go all in, and one of these times it’s going to work! No way. Those dorks that sang that corny-ass song before they met the Phils in the NLCS doomed them to never win anything.

lol, of course. IIRC one of the things that made AJ Styles RR debut so cool was the tweet announcing his debut at the ppv. Because I said that there should be no surprises whatsoever. f*** off with that There has to be a variety. Announced returns and some surprises sprinkled in every once in awhile and not every single year. Rumbles are over saturated with the whole “mystery entrant” thing, it’s not the entire point of the match I always thought they should announce 26 entrants from the main roster and then have 4 “at large” entrants that could be from NXT, a legend or even a Forbidden Door entrant. But if you’re on the main roster, you’re announced beforehand like in the olden days. This is only for the men’s Rumble, it always seems like they need to recruit the women from anywhere they can.

For a guy who probably has a picture of his dad Bret Hart on his nightstand, that’s a pretty crummy sharpshooter.

With Samu making his return, I demand Roman recognize that the Bloodline is just a tougher but less cool version of the Samoan Gangsta Party.

WCW is the fall of 1995 was one of the most fascinating times for a wrestling company. You had a PPV with Sabu in his prime that also featured a mummy dryhumping Hulk Hogan. Truly something for everyone.

Anyone else remember how over Shane Helms was suddenly getting? I remember his “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” knockoff entrance theme, probably the last of the great Jimmy Hart knockoffs.

I liked the story and Warwick Davis was wonderful but the “MCU wisecracking turned up to 11” tone really threw the whole thing off for me.

One From the Heart at least had a great soundtrack by Tom Waits & Crystal Gayle that got an Oscar nomination.

Can someone translate "breach of a fiduciary lawsuit" into much easier to understand words? “Fiduciary duty” is the responsibility to act in the best interest of the shareholders. Vince used the company’s money to buy the silence of the women he was forcing into sleazy relationships with him, which is not in the best interest of the shareholders.

So, how is the very first Royal Rumble NOT the least star studded? It was won by Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Yes, it had young Bret Hart and Ultimate Warrior, but it was won by HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN. Jim Duggan was the second or third most over face on the roster in 1988. I don't think you know just how big Duggan was at the time. Duggan was probably 5th behind Hogan, Savage, Snake Roberts and Brutus the Barber but most wrestlers today would sell their soul to be as over as the #5 babyface in 1988. As for the question at hand, it’s 1990. 1992 had some scrubs like Skinner, Berserker, one of the Nasty Boys…I think Koko B Ware is the lowest tier guy in 1990 and he’s the first one eliminated. When Snake Roberts comes in at #4, the crowd does not die down until the end.

Everything needs to come up Danhausen. I don’t think he needs to be the focus or anything, but I would like to see him have more matches, even if they’re tags. I saw an ad for Dynamite whilst watching some Seinfeld reruns and they showed a lot of the roster…but not a glimpse of Danhausen. It’s just strange to not push a performer that moves so much merchandise more towards the front of things.

Before he was brought back full-time as Viscera, I thought him as King Mabel looked out of place for that one night appearance during the Attitude Era. I was there live and probably the only person in the Bryce Jordan Center who cheered for big Mabel that night.

The best thing about this (apart from all parties seem to be agressively... agreeing with each other?) is the moniker "FTR Bald" This needs to be a sign on Dynamite if it hasn't been one already. $10 says Dax would try to get whoever had the sign kicked out.
