I think what happens a lot of the time is that when you have a lot of posters on a forum, people tend to get lost in the mix. They want something to make them stand out and be noticed because they've seen posters talk about other posters or form small cliques (these were very common a few years back) and they want some of that.
From what I gathered over the years there are quite a lot of people on here with various social issues. You'll often hear of people that can't enjoy parties or groups but are fine talking to others online. They still want to be noticed, appreciated and loved like 'normal' folk do at parties but they want it another way. Nothing says that you're appreciated more than someone across the country or even the planet thinking of you while doing something you're not involved in.
So we get threads about hating Batman/My Little Pony or anything else that's popular, "Am I the only one?" threads and the copy & paste stuff that Ghidorah posts and the folk that want to copy him.
It's the way it's always been here and probably always will.

Not a red for me. I can see why the ref sent him off though. No slow-motion replays too get a good look at it. It could easily have been seen as an outrageous hatchet job by Nani. No doubts it changed the game drastically though.

You are allowed to brake while on the road. It's the person behind you's responsibility to ensure they are suitably spaced, travelling at a reasonable speed and paying enough attention to allow for the car/bike in front to stop in an emergency and not hit them. He didn't do at least one of those so the cop is at fault.
Even ignoring the fact that he caused the accident, his behaviour afterwards is what makes him an asshole. He doesn't check if the guy's ok and immediately starts intimidating the guy into not pursuing any further action. Police are public servants and intimidating members of the public to cover their own ass is unacceptable. To me at least.
The cop has no right to be issuing 'shitloads of tickets'. Handing out shitloads of tickets on invented charges is corrupt and indeed illegal (maybe not in America, but I suspect it is). Him not going that far doesn't give him a pass.

I was impressed but not blown away.
Interested in what MS have to say and how things unfold.

Seen it a few times. It has odd pacing.
Better than its reputation would suggest but not much better, is my opinion.

Whatever point this guy was making was completely undermined when he got pissy at Crossley for doing exactly what the guy was supposed to be encouraging.
He was out to make a name for himself and failed.

On the Will Smith True Hollywood Story, James Avery talks briefly about it and says that this isn't Uncle Phil in Bel-Air and no matter if they want more stories about them, it's not what the shows about. I can't follow what you're saying here at all.

Tonight's subject matter probably hit home tonight since Jon grew up in Central/Southern New Jersey. I'm guessing that's why he seemed a lot more bitter. He's also done a LOT as far as organizing charity drives and such go for Sandy. What was the subject?

That is neat. I wonder what other sets are left up. I thought that Hobbiton was left up from the LOTR filming, which made it easy to film for The Hobbit. Hobbiton is on a sheep farm. It was originally part of the deal that it was removed but once they realised the potential of tours and whatnot, they decided to keep it. I visited it last year. It's pretty cool.

I can completely tune out of a conversation. Once I tune out I can be listening to someone talk to me from only a few feet away and when the conversation ends I've actually not heard a word they've said. It has its drawbacks (eg fire safety drills) but it can be handy for tv adverts and ignoring annoying people.
Just like the X-Men I found this power was a little out of control at school but now have a decent handle on it.

Is it still a laugh track when it's from a live audience?

I wanted this thread to be where we would post pictures of our pumpkins. It's not, but I'm doing that anyway. This was the first one I've carved since I was a child.

I was at a football match the other week where two young boys were throwing stuff they were finding on the ground at a little girl that sits a couple of rows in front of them. It was half time so folk were chatting away to each other and weren't paying attention.
I could see the girl was getting upset so I walked over to tell them to stop it. The dad did nothing but tell them so sit down after I'd had a word.
At least he didn't have a go at me though like in Stevieboy's example. Parents who side with their kids rather than showing some discipline disgust me.

Talking to managers about your job isn't sucking up to them or kissing their asses. Without us knowing exactly what was said it's hard to say for sure but I can't see how you've got to ass kissing from what she said to you.
It also might be that while it seems clear to you that you enjoy the job it would appear that it's not so clear to others.
