Kante is a good shout too. Payet's been good but not great. Plus he's missed a considerable chunk of the season through injury.

I know everyone seems to have loved the main event but I hated it. No doubt it put Matanza over but it just made Pentagon look ridiculous in my eyes. It obviously worked for the believers because the chants for Zero Fear at the end were as loud as they were before the match but it's just diminished Pentagon a lot in my eyes. There's a fine line between making a monster hoss look strong and obliterating the credibility of a member of your roster, this crossed that line for me, sadly. But it seems clear that it worked for everyone else so it's clearly my problem but damn I'm just disappointed that the next time I see Pentagon I'm not going to feel anywhere near what I usually feel when I see him.
Rest of the show was awesome though. Loooooooved the Rey/Dario segment.

How was Suggy/Nakajima and Kanemaru/Ishimori II? Haven't got around to watching the show yet. Both matches were excellent; lot of juice behind them, lot of force behind the strikes, really felt like vintage NOAH. Again, some might be annoyed at Suzuki-gun's booking at this point, but can't argue with the match quality involved. Sugiura is an absolute beast. I feel like NOAH are on a bit of a precipice with regards to Suzuki-gun. Everything for the past six months or so has been booked really well but now is the time to start to pull the plug on it. KES should lose the tag titles soon and Kanemaru can put someone over with the Jr. belt before Nakajima wins at his second attempt against Suggy. Glad the matches went over well, so glad Nakajima is being used properly and is getting over again, hopefully it's not too long before he stands atop the NOAH mountain. I'm really enjoying NOAH at the minute. Feels like they're in the best place they've been since Misawa passed away

Watched the Road to show last night: Jay and Kenny tore it up, really dug that match. Also, I really want to see Goto vs. EVIL in a singles match. Also checked out some of the NOAH Korakuen show from 3/19; that felt good to see. I dug watching what I could of NOAH back in the day, love to go back and watch some old school King's Road matches, and NOAH's recent output makes it feel a bit more like the good times again. Probably frustrating some people for Suzuki Gun to be so thoroughly back on top, but I guess that was to build to the next We Are Suzuki-Gun show. Wish NJPW World would post more of those shows. How was Suggy/Nakajima and Kanemaru/Ishimori II? Haven't got around to watching the show yet.

Bryan, Mania XXX. Before that I had lots of good-great moments I would considered for that but having watched the guy for over a decade at that point and raved about him for equally as long it was amazing to finally see him on top of the wrestling world. Sure everything that followed sucked but man for that one moment it was the most joyful moment I'd ever seen watching wrestling. I've got loads of amazingly cool moments but that is certainly the one that epitomises joyful to me.

It wasn't 'Mania XXX but it was a pretty good show. It's weird but I tend to judge shows on how it overall makes me feel. Like, for example, you can have overall a better set of matches on one show but a different show with lesser quality matches might make me feel better. Prime example of this is actually from the series of good TNA PPVs in 2012. Looking at it match-by-match Destination X 2012 was the clearly better show but overall Slammiversary 2012 felt more enjoyable so I'd say Slammiversary was the better show. Similar story with WM31, the matches might not really have been much to write home about but the show had an enjoyable feel, hence I thought it was a good show.

Someone needs to sit Hunter down and show him Roode's title run from 11/12. If he doesn't want to sign him after that I don't know what to say.
EY's a good hand but I wouldn't be going out of my way to sign him.

NXT, obviously. Kaitlyn/AJ was really good although it felt backwards because it started out hot and then just kinda meandered to a whimper of a finish - sort of paralleled the Dolph/ADR feud in that sense. Charlotte/Becky and then the transition into Charlotte/Becky/Sasha has been quite good though. SmackDown has really highlighted how far Charlotte needs to come though. They get quite significant promo time most weeks and Sasha/Becky knock it out of the park (the segment where Charlotte invites them out to apologise for ever calling them Horsewomen is a great example of this) and Charlotte almost tanks the entire segment. The writing of the feud has been pretty good though.

As if this is a decade ago. Time is just flying. This is still amazing though, the character development of Jimmy Jacobs over the years in ROH is one of the best pieces of long-term storytelling I've ever seen.

Considering what we have to look forward to this year, I can't help but wonder. Like most I am pretty well resigned to Cena being the perpetual face, but if ever there was a time for him to make a heel turn I think it would have been a couple years ago, when Daniel Bryan's star was on the ascent. I think Cena would have made a good choice as The Authority's chosen one, playing off the whole "best for bidness" shtick since, after all, he has been WWE's top draw for so long. I could totally have seen Cena go the "Hollywood Hogan" route by pouring out resentment at the audience for the years of mixed reactions and for the way they cheered for Lesnar to come back and attack him, and I could even have seen him pull a Douchetista on DB after he won the belt from Orton by saying "That's MY title you've got and I want it back!" But with the perspective of time, this scenario would probably only have worked in an alternate universe. While DB going over heel Cena would have been a perfect WM moment, Bryan was on such borrowed time that he wouldn't have been able to fully capitalize on it in the aftermath, which would probably have left Cena to make a quickie face turn to once again become the all purpose good guy. Sigh, what could have been!
I would love to see a heel Cena vs. Roman Reigns at SummerSlam!
One of the main concerns behind a Cena heel turn is it wouldn't change much. Instead of having a mix of marks (for lack of a better phrase) cheering and smarks booing the roles would simply reverse as the smarks cheer the fact that Cena has finally turned heel. Putting him against Roman would not only garner that desperately unwanted reaction but it would guarantee he'd continue to get cheered after the initial buzz of the turn simply because he's going up against a face that most of the audience hates.

I'll enjoy both I'm sure but I'm way more excited about the GCS mainly because pretty much since NJPW phased Devitt out of the Jr. Division it has been a joke. Sure they've got outside talent coming in and I'd love to see someone like Kanemaru have a good, long run in the Cup but frankly I think it'll be a bit of a disappointment. The GCS is something totally out of left field for WWE (by the way I'd love this, the Dusty Rhodes Tag Tourney and maybe a women's show and a heavyweight show to each become an annual thing - it leads to great shows for us and allows WWE to properly evaluate independent talent, would be a really cool future). With it being a Hunter ran thing I expect it to be logical and well booked and his talent acquisition has generally been pretty spot on too. Should be great.
Of course my opinions could completely change on both when the line-ups are released.

[R]Evolution without a question as a one off. I'd say it's probably better to start with Arrival though and work your way through the specials because that will give you a better idea of the story being told and make [R]Evolution mean more when you do get to watch it. [R]Evolution was the pinnacle of NXT. Not that it's not great now but that was the absolute peak of anything they've ever done, it was perfect.

Brie Mode and it isn't even close. Whoever wrote that theme should be brought to trial on the grounds of crimes against humanity. Migraine inducing.

Maybe not always WWE refs but I hear refs in general saying this quite often so it's not exactly uncommon. Just like in boxing, if you're not showing enough cognitive response to defend yourself the ref will stop the match.

* Maria and Jade are in the ring. Maria wants Jade to give her the Knockouts Title but Jade refuses. Eventually a number of other Knockouts come out. Things are broken up by Billy Corgan who announces that there will be one match to determine who is the leader of the Knockouts Division. He also announces Jade vs Madison Rayne for the title tonight. Hang on a second, they're having a match to determine the leader of the Knockouts Division but it won't be the Champion?
