After WCW closed, the WWE should have taken far more chances and creative risks instead of years of playing it safe.

I’m rewatching Mania 14 prior to the first Something Else to Wrestle With. What a bizarre and vast range of talent on this show. Everyone from Terry Funk, LOD, and the Rock and Roll Express to Stone Cold, the Rock, and Triple H. Also expecting Shinsuke Nakamura to show up with all the low blows in every match.

Nowadays the reaction would be "...so?". Todays kids have seen Cena lift two men on his shoulders (one of them being Big Show), and a guy flipping an ambulance over. I don’t think Cena could or has ever got Big Show up for the AA.

The vignette WCW did with him becoming Michael Wallstreet is gold.

Beats me why Disco didn't continue to be featured in the WWF, honestly. Dude was pretty good in the ring and certainly had charisma. The bell rang.

Zybyszko’s call of Goldberg winning the US title was an all time great call. “He moved the Rocky Mountains with a single punch!” (That may not be the exact quote - it’s been 20 years!)

In the dying days of WCW, Paul Orndorff teamed with the Filthy Animals to take on the Natural Born Thrillers, who he had trained at the power plant. It wasn’t a full fledged feud, but it’s in the ball park.

I always thought it was strange that the Apter mags always called him Curt Hennig instead of Mr. Perfect.

Huh. One of the few times Nash told the truth during an interview. Nash seems pretty consistent with his stories (lord knows he’s done a million shoot interviews). I think he’s more reliable than most wrestler shoots, but who really knows. I think Nash is honest. He just mis-remembers things. In his youshoot he said the best backstage fight he ever saw was Orndoff dropping Vader in his shower shoes in WCW. Only, Nash was the WWF champion at the time. I’m sure he heard about the fight and over the years remembers being there. Or he will always defend the fingerpoke of doom as not working because they were setting up a heel machine for Goldberg to go through, but he went and put his hand through a limo window and was out for six months. Only, the limo incident happened almost a year later.

Goldberg vs Perry Saturn on PPV. I forget which one it was but it was the night before he speared Raven through the table to win the US title Spring Stampede 1998

Dusty was so lazy compared to today’s stars. Today’s hardworking superstars go out there and put in 20 minutes of promo work. Dusty would do - what? Two or three minutes? And people call this guy a legend?
