I was on holiday in Switzerland. In our hotel room we had access to the BBC text service which brought you all the latest news and sport on your tv.
One of the headlines read 'Wrestler in murder-suicide'. It didn't give the name of the wrestler so I went on that news story. I wasn't expecting it to be a big name or even a wrestler that I'd actually heard of. I thought it was going to be a small independent wrestler.
When I saw the name Chris Benoit I didn't really take in the rest of the story. I just stared at the screen for about a minute.
As I was away from home I didn't have any internet access so I immediately called a wrestling friend of mine to give me all of the details. I spent about half an hour talking to him about it, the international phonecall cost me a fortune but it was worth it to get all of the news from him.
The next day it actually made the front page of the some of the swiss newspapers, there was a big picture of Benoit on the front page staring at me all day. It made my holiday quite a memorable one!
First thing I remember doing when I returned from my holiday was to come onto these forums and read all of the threads to see how the news gradually broke.

Just noticed in the Champions League qualifiers that Lincoln Red Imps weren't the Champions of Gibraltar. They had won 14 straight Gibraltar league championships from 2002/03-2015/16
Looks like beating Celtic in the First leg of the qualifiers last season went to their heads!
**I just saw the league table. They Won 24 Drew 3 Lost 1 Scored 100 goals and somehow lost the league title by one point!**

Hopefully soon. I've been wanting to buy a PS4 for months but the price of the console doesn't seem to be coming down at all. Once the 5 comes out i'll be able to pick up a PS4 cheaply. Black Friday, homie. I didn't realise that Black Friday was an online thing or that it was also done in the UK. I thought it was just for people to cause carnage inside stores. After a quick google search I now feel like a huge idiot. Roll on November!

First time I used them was on my first night in Japan. I was terrified that most of my food would end up on the table and on the floor. In the end it was much easier than I expected and I even had a local compliment me on my chopstick using technique. It was a proud moment!

My Sega Game Gear. After hearing so many stories about how badly they were made, I think mine is the only working Game Gear in the entire world. When I worked at Goodwill, I photographed at least 6 Game Gears. All of them had bad screens. I seriously hope mine continues to work. I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't able to play my Streets of Rage or Shinobi games! My wife's original GameBoy and our games, all of which still work! I think the main problem you will encounter with a GameBoy is screen fade. I've still got one but I only ever played Tetris on it, the GameBoy was sadly neglected in favour of my above mentioned Game Gear.

I dip into the product occasionally for PPVs. I've got the network for the library archive so I only watch the PPVs because I have the network.
The product just feels so lifeless, uninspired and dull. From the wrestlers, the commentators, the crowd and the production...it's just so bland. I was watching episodes of Raw from 1998 before Money in the bank, and the difference in energy levels of the two eras was like night and day.
I honestly don't know how fans who watched during the WWF's glory days can continue to watch this tedium.

The problem is that added time in its current form is so arbitrary. Stricter time control is needed and as controversial and against tradition that these new proposals are, they are much better than the inaccurate system we have currently. There was a game I saw recently which had 3 minutes added time. In that added time there was a goal, a substitution and a sending off...they allowed an extra 40 seconds for all of those incidents. Its an issue which does need some examination.

I definitely agree with you. For me, many games today come under the "mile wide, inch deep" category. I much prefer the linear but non-stop action of the NES & Megadrive games.

Mystery partners/opponents. It's a great idea but almost always is a disappointment. Especially during the early 2000s when it seemed that everytime there was a Mystery Tag Partner or opponent, it was either Kane or Big Show.

I got the same feeling watching the video of McGregor sparring as I did when I saw footage of CM Punk training for his UFC fight last year.

After hearing the end of Cornette's most recent podcast, Vince Russo should barricade himself inside that room that he podcasts from. I don't know what Corny is planning, but I'd be suitably terrified if I had an unstable lunatic with temper issues on my case.

I've seen many people jumping to conclusions, but looking at the history of the building it seems that this building has been an accident waiting to happen for a number of years. A badly made and badly maintained building.
Hope everybody got out, but I'll be amazed if all of the residents got out of that inferno with their lives. A truly tragic accident.

Funny how two people can watch the same incident and come to vastly different conclusions.
The book says the blood completely missed Nash, went all over the crowd, Nash looked confused, Russo looked horrified and wrestlers broke character by laughing. To me, some of it hit Nash, most of it went on the ring with none touching the fans and Nash, Russo and the others all appeared to react in line with the script.
