Not to be a dick but I just preferred MTV when they played music. I'm 8 years older than you and at no point in my living memory has MTV 'only' played music in our country. This. I'm 22 from Australia and I believe MTV has always been a mixture of things. If I had to take a guess I'd assume the early to mid 90's would have been the last of MTV simply playing music videos. OP just trying to fit in I would imagine.

It's funny when people write that TNA was awesome in 08-09 because everyone bitched about TNA back then. I remember it quite well with people hating on it for being a haven for ex WWE guys and how they never pushed their young guys.
I remember many a post on another board I visited about how Mick Foley sucked or Sting sucked and they both needed to be fired. Jeff Jarrett sucks and needs to leave etc etc
The last year I remember of the IWC actually being in favor of TNA was late 06 or early 2007. The IWC loved WWE in 2005-2006 as well so you're looking at about 8-9 years since most people agreed.
My opinion? I don't watch WWE so I'm going with 2006. Smackdown was great in 2006 and Impact was "What the hell are they going to do next?! I need to tune in!"

I think some of you are being a little harsh on Kurt.
He's still one of the best workers in the world the issue is he hasn't wrestled a fresh opponent in years. His first couple of years he could have all these fresh matches with guys like AJ, Daniels, Joe, Kazarian, Sting etc but now in 2014 he's already wrestled every single TNA guy and it's just a constant loop. Nobody new on his level really comes in anymore unlike when he first debuted so he's stuck.
In your next 2 years Kurt will finish this feud with Roode. Probably go into a feud with a guy like Daniels or Joe then he will have a feud with Sting and this time in 2 years we'll be talking about how the 2016 Bound For Glory match of Bobby Roode Vs Kurt Angle is boring and how his matches are boring

TNA when he was in charge is often praised Excuse me, but really? Praised? I think the "FIRE RUSSO" chants would COMPLETELY disagree with you. Point 1: Dixie Carter herself has said that the chant during that match was for a segment booked by Dutch Mantel and not Vince Russo so there goes that logic Point 2: Impact Zone was full of smarks. The TNA audience base was a lot bigger than that. Point 3: Most people praise TNA from like 03-09. Russo was involved in booking and writing for most of those years bar 05 and I believe 06. He was around in 2010-2012 but everyone wants to hate Bischoff and Hulk for those years so if people want to blame Russo as well that'd be contradictory. In closing, people say Russo sucks and is unsuccessful simply because they don't like his style which is fine. I'm personally not a fan of Jim Cornette's booking style but to say he outright sucks and that his career has been 90% shit is very silly.

The WCW announcers are still confused as to whether this is the real Sting Todd or not "But who's side is he on?"

Most of the NWA's top guys were ECW guys so it probably wouldn't have worked.
They did try ECW invading an NWA Territory back in 1997 though. It didn't last long.

I could never list just one but I've been to plenty of independent shows where a promoter will bring in an indy darling on the cheap and smarks will turn up.
One smark asking me if I know what Ring Of Honor is in a really arrogant way. When I told him I knew ROH but preferred TNA he reacted in a negative way telling me I must not like good wrestling and that ROH would take over TNA one day and that Sonjay Dutt (The wrestler the promoter brought in that night) wrestles in ROH and that TNA are idiots for not wanting to hire Sonjay Dutt. Guess what he had Sonjay Dutt autograph though? One of those TNA best of the X-Division DVD's
On one of my last indy shows I attended (I don't go anymore because of the smarks) I got in late so walked in with my buddies and immediately sat down at a table up the back with this dude who was mid 20's and alone. Throughout the night he yelled "RUDO!" and "TECHNICO" at the wrestlers despite the fact it was an Australian Independent Show. He'd also start "Work rate" chants when the match was bad. Nobody understood what was going on though so it'd be a one man chant whilst me and my buddies made fun of him.

Seems kind of pointless to have a private wrestling session if you're not in the business, no?
Kind of like hiring a professional singing coach to make you sound better for drunken karaoke.

For me? I don't really need anything I guess I'd purchase a note book computer for travelling and maybe a high end television.
For the poster above me? 500 dollars worth of coal.

I was a fan as a really young kid. Maybe 2-8 so I don't really remember that much but I had hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of the toys and the weekends would be spent building the tracks from out of my bed room and all around the house.
I nostalgia'd hard at the original intro video someone posted.

Wolf Creek.
It has John Jarratt in it who is probably one of the best Australian Actors not to make it overseas. Rest of the cast is kind of blah but it became a pretty big deal in the States.

Russo had TNA headed in a great direction until Hogan came in and turned it to absolute shit I hear this all the time and I never understand why people use Russo stumbling on a few good months of a career 90% full of shit and somehow think that he`s changed. I even have a genuinely tough time thinking people actually believe Russo was on to something at that time and just say that to further villainize Hogan and Bischoff. I understand some people may not like Russo's booking style but saying his career is 90% shit is a very uneducated statement. WCW 99-00 is what he's most hated for. TNA when he was in charge is often praised and the Attitude Era which he wrote is considered one of the best periods of wrestling ever. So he's 2 for 3. If he really is in charge of TNA now then lets just see what he can do with it before everyone freaks out.

This happens all the time. TNA's ratings are probably going up because the NFL Season has come to a close which means no more Thursday Night Football and I imagine less competition in general for them (I think they only compete with NBA currently, correct me if I'm wrong)
Once the competition comes back they'll drop down. They should be trying to hook everyone they can in the next month or two.

If he was head booker I'd still be tuned in. He's a sports entertainment guy and I like that style of wrestling.
The shows have too much emphasis on wrestling currently to be booked entirely by Vince Russo. I wouldn't be surprised if he was apart of a creative team though.

I like everyone mentioned so far except Ali Singh.
Harris Brothers were fun in late WCW.
Does Horace Hogan have a legitimate fan out there?

That was actually a pretty good episode. I expected garbage after first 45 seconds. Kelly was decent. And she looks a lot better as a brunette than she did while in WWE.(I still can't get over the dead eyes though, I never can.) Out of curiosity (Google wasn't much help) what exactly are "dead eyes"?

It is pretty offensive if you take into account that the Powerpuff Girls is a show that is aimed towards girls in the 4-10 age bracket.
Despite it being offensive can you blame them for trying it though? My Little Pony is a show for little girls in a similar age bracket and guys in their twenties and thirties around the world not only watch the show but some of them are attracted to the characters on the show as well.
I think in 10 years this type of thing will go from being offensive to normal.

It's a shame, I remember back in 06-07 that Mike was viewed as a guy who could really make an impact in WWE in the eyes of the fans at least.
