I've fallen way off the South Park wagon, but it needed about 80% less Randy Marsh when I stopped watching. And considering they spent half a season on "Tegridy Farms", I can't imagine that's changed.
I think it's so funny how one of their big sticking points in the Family Guy/Seth McFarlane "feud" was how little character there was to people and how you could just plug any situation to anyone with minimal creativity, and yet that's literally all Randy is. The only difference between him and Peter Griffin is a couple hundred pounds.

I don't even know how much of a story there is to Madden that couldn't be told in a 30 minute profile show. The only dramas I've ever heard of was Madden demanding it be 11-on-11 or his name wasn't going on it. Even if there's a little more, it's not like we're talking Nintendo vs. Sega or Mortal Kombat's development and launch (which IMO would be worthy of a doc...I know there's Insert Coin, I own that, but something more in-depth and just on the original MK and its development/backlash).

I was super-into Streets of Rogue for awhile. I still fall in and out of spells of playing the hell out of it. I actually had the World Record for a custom character for about a year before the person who was known as THE SoR runner came around and yoinked it from me by absolutely crushing my run. Still, an absolutely fun game that has multiple solutions to its puzzles, just as long as you either can calculate and access the situation well OR are super-skilled with twin-stick schmups (Total Carnage, Smash TV) to make your mistakes moot. It stuns me it didn't take off higher than it did. Not For BroadcastA modern FMV game (It left early acess in January of 2022) set in an alternate reality Great Britan in the 80's and 90's. You have to live-edit a news show, making sure the camera stays on whoever's talking, get reaction shots, making sure to cut to the right segments, pick visuals to display during the various segments, select ads to play, deal with interference, bleep out overly strong swear words, etc... However, the premise is that a new political party called Advance wins the elections and that party, it turns out, doesn't care much for the ol' free speech and freedom of the press. And so, they put more and more pressure on the channel as the game progresses and you are expected to censor criticism of Advance, play their propaganda and generally show them in a good light while vilifying their enemies. Of course, whether you choose to obey or not is up to you and a resistance group called Disrupt quickly forms and hopes to get you on their side. But remember, whatever choices you make, there WILL be consequences. To further give you personal incentive in your choices, there are also narrative segments in between the brodcasts where you have to make choices that will affect the future of your family, and of course your actions during the broadcasts can also have an effect during those. Despite the seriousness of the premise, the game is also a comedy, with increasingly dark humour as it goes on, and the comedy is usually excellent. One the finest example in my opinion is the Sportsboard match, which is just a monument of absurdist humour without falling into outright "lol rendum". There are 14 possible endings so you've got quite a few branching paths (although to be fair, about half of those are determined by the final broadcast) and even outside of the endings, your actions and choices during the broadcasts can also change what happens to all of the secondary characters. They have also released two DLC broadcasts so far, one called Telethon, set early in the story where your boss asks you to edit an old show from the 50's to test if you should keep the job full time and another one called Live & Spooky where the crew explores an allegedly haunted abandoned TV studio. There are at least two more DLCs planned for the future as well. I just love this game, not only because the gameplay is genuinely engaging, but the story is particularly good, in all paths. And in this day and age, I think a game with a premise like this is important and while it's not always subtle in its messaging, it does do a great job of showing the complexities of such a situation and the various perspectives, especially as you're often forced to make extremely important choices in a very short time, highlighting how difficult it can be for journalists and media in general to decide what their angle should be when reporting. While it does criticize news media to an extent, it's not the superficial "media bad" sort of take that's all too common these days. It shows that while news outlets can influence and manipulate people, it's not all in their hands and they too can be influenced and manipulated, when they aren't outright threatened into towing the line. It also stresses the importance of free press if you want genuine news that help the public make informed decisions. It also shows that extremism in general never ends well, regardless of how noble its alleged values are. Oh! And I almost forgot how great the acting is, which of course is vital in an FMV game and really helps sell all of these stories and make you care about the characters. It really is a credit to all of the actors. Yoooooo, that sounds super freakin' neat. I wishlisted that as soon as I read your post. I've always thought FMV games, executed well, have a place. The genre/style just gets a bad rep for....not being well executed to the point too many cast the entire genre itself as flawed.

I used to be the kind of guy that would be all about celeb hate. For me it started with music and certain overplayed artists.
Justin Bieber was actually the one that got me kinda turned the other way on it. Not because I liked his music, but at that point I had my own MP3 player, had some podcasts I listened to, had my own music I listened to, etc. It was so easy to NOT listen to his music. To this day, I don't think I've ever heard "Baby" the whole way through.
It also helped in Kansas City, there's maybe 2 pop music stations out of several. So to see people I worked with that listened to metal and hard rock or country music complain about him being all over the radio was basically outing them for listening to the pop stations they claimed they never listened to. They weren't even talking about him on 98.9 The Rock (hard rock) or Young Country Q104.3 or 101 The Fox (classic rock), soooooo.......
But it kinda dawned on me that all these celebs and artists I hated, that was all I had to do.
From there forward the only times I get annoyed at celebs is repetitive commercials or if they say/do/support something I find genuinely harmful.

There's definitely a balance when doing that though. I've played games (a couple beat 'em ups) where I continued WAAAAAY too many times and I come away feeling like I just won a war of attrition and didn't actually learn the game or get better. Which on free play, it's whatever I guess. No real harm done.

Yahoo did send me an email in the overnight hours here (and I'm having trouble sleeping, so...) and figured I would pass along what it says. What I was sent was this, word-for-word, if anyone wants to read it themselves: sports.yahoo.com/week-17-18-fantasy-football-status-updates-011003705.html- All Week 17 results are frozen where they stand for now. The only games looking to really be affected by the status of Monday's game would be the 5th place game and, of course, the BIG elephant in the room, the Championship. - The league does state Xxcjb01xX [PIECE OF: SH-] as the champion per how Yahoo leagues' systems run. However, Yahoo's email provided details on what happens with the situation on Monday: - IF the game is declared final as it stands, everything stays put where it is now. - IF the league declares the game "cancelled", that would mean the league zeroes out all stats from that game, and according to what I was sent, Yahoo Fantasy does so as well. So the stats would revert back to where they were after Sunday night's game, and whatever happened in Monday's game is basically scrubbed from the books - IF the game is resumed at a later time, the stats from the resumed game WILL count.Whether the game is cancelled or declared final where it stands, the results from the Championship and 5th place games would not change; Seth Drakin of Monster Crap would win 5th and Xxcjb01xX [PIECE OF: SH-] would win the title under either scenario since they were in the lead of their respective games going into Monday night AND at the point when the game stopped. - One last thing...to clarify a particular part about Yahoo's setup that I addressed in the Discord, Yahoo's article does state I can make changes. THAT BEING SAID, their "changes" consist of commissioners manually adjusting scores (as if we played Week 18 old-school pen-and-paper style and then punched the numbers into the system), something I have NEVER resorted to and don't intend to here. The postseason settings are locked when the season begins; there is not a way for me to add Week 18 as a "do-over" week or anything like that. If anyone has any questions regarding the scenario, I can answer them here or on the Discord, but most of what you'd want to know is probably in the link I posted above.

To the credit of the league, fortunately nobody has been "that guy", not on here and not on Discord. Everybody has seemed to see the bigger picture on this one, thankfully.
I will say IF anyone is looking here for Fantasy Football related answers, first, re-access your priorities. But whatever Yahoo goes with is what we're doing, simple as. Barring any immediate & drastic changes, that's the first/last I'm gonna say on that. I'm not elaborating further, and not answering any DMs/Discord messages/tags regarding it.
Hoping the best for Damar Hamlin, his family and friends, and the Buffalo Bills organization. Anxiously awaiting any good news.

I got a B this year and predicted to finish 7th. Wondering if we could have an IR spot in this league. We already do. I don't have any eligible players or else I'd test it myself, but I think the slot doesn't show up unless you try to move someone that's eligible for the spot. Eligible designations - IR (Injured Reserve), NFI-A (Non-Football Injury (Active)), O (Out) and Physically Unable to Perform (PUP). Ineligible designations - D (Doubtful), NA (Not Active), P (Probable), Q (Questionable), and SUSP (Suspended). help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN28136.html;_ylt=AwrFOf4CtA1j61UFBsdXNyoA;_ylu=Y29sbwNiZjEEcG9zAzEEdnRpZAMEc2VjA3Ny

One of the things I've hated about the Mock Drafts is people usually split in the middle of them and go to autopick, which usually they select the players they wanted in a queue anyway but like the authentic experience where everyone is thinking is just a cooler experience I think Yeah a lot of people just figure out their first few picks in mocks then quit which can screw over people lol. You can try doing it on fantasypros where it’s just you vs a computer though. It's good for getting a guideline on the first few picks, but I get some weird anomalies at times (Cooper Kupp going #1, QBs going undrafted until Round 4...which if you've been in this league, you know by then about 4-5 QBs are off the board). The biggest one being I'll have players fall DEEP to the end of the draft that'll go in round 7 or 8 on Yahoo mocks.

Anyone else try Mock Drafts out? I've done a couple, some differing results depending on how many people stick around and don't auto pick, which is why it's so hard to really pinpoint a Mock compared to a draft where you know, or hope, all 14 people will be there drafting till the last pick But at least they've let me know the overall depth of a 14 draft board, barring injuries... I've figured out from where I am I NEED to go RB at least on the first or second round. By the time the end of the third/start of the 4th rolls around, I'm already scraping for fringe starters and committee backs. I can deal with that if I have one ace RB and have a good WR to boot. But any mock where I've gone WR/WR to start, I've not liked the end result. I've done RB/WR and RB/RB and ended up with teams I liked.

Is trading draft picks allowed? Or even possible to do? To my knowledge there is no "built-in" way to do it within Yahoo (maybe I'm wrong). But I can adjust the order up to one hour before the draft. I SUPPOSE if I got approval from both parties I could just move the order. As long as it's the position for the whole draft. I don't think I can do (or want to look into the idea of) individual picks (trading 1st for a 3rd and 5th and stuff like that).

I know there's some questions and I'll address them later (I'm on work break and only got a few minutes).
I've received a few notices that people got messages/emails for renewal of last year's league. Please disregard. I didn't know Yahoo leagues now default to auto-renewal. They used to be manual (which I wouldn't do, so I could do a new league with new signups).
So if you got a message about the 2021 league being renewed, please disregard. We're not doing anything with that.

I do remember shortly after the Wii Punch-Out the director of that game had mentioned wanting to do another and saying he'd "always wanted a full-fleshed out multiplayer mode" that allowed use of the opposing boxers. I can't help but think of that comment now and wonder if it's a "Sonic Mania Drop Dash" situation where it wasn't some crazy idea he had in the moment or during the Wii game's development and it's been in their back pocket all this time. And just couldn't balance it (my guess to not making this feature more well known) or maintain game performance. I wonder what the tier list is I know you're maybe half-joking, but someone I follow on Twitter has found with certain characters there are basically "zero to knockdown" combos. Since the timing lags don't apply like they do with the A.I., there's some busted stuff. I saw one video where someone using Super Macho Man immediately threw three jabs into an uppercut, right into the spin punch, and if Mac gets hit by the first punch it's an instant knockdown because the punches just go right into the next one with no lag in between (which is not how the A.I. is programmed to throw them). So I am sortof curious too which characters just become stupid hard. I wonder if this works on the GC version of Fight Night Round 3 that has Super Punchout on it. I've not seen it confirmed specifically, but it does work on Nintendo Switch Online's version of SPO as well as on the SNES Classic, so it stands to reason it would work on that if you can put together what buttons are what on a GameCube controller. Only way I imagine it wouldn't is if they only mapped the gameplay specific buttons and so it wouldn't recognize a second controller's commands, but if I had to guess I'd bet it does work

I love that there's canonically an Earth in the Final Fantasy Universe and we were all killed by Sephiroth. And yet the fight continued!!! It's like Smoke's fatality in MK3. You blow up the Earth, move on to fight Stryker!
