Well, not even the best managers can get over some talent. Heyman and Lesnar worked very well, but not even Heyman could get over some of the others he had got saddled with on SmackDown after Lesnar, namely Heidenreich...no matter how much he put into saying his name. Catchiest theme ever, however.

C'mon man, let's not start that up again. Nah, if anything I would just say it adds legitimacy to the idea that WWE protects its moneymakers in regards to Wellness. Not that the way Reys Wellness violation went down in September didn't already add to it. His punishment was a Tag Team title match on PPV after a vacation. Wellness is a transparent joke at this point. On the bright side, neither he nor Batista won the tag match, nor the World title, and it set up for the greatest meme ever, "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE MAH FRIEND! WAAAAAGH!"

Surrrrrrre. No seriously. It's been discussed in threads at length in off topic, I don't do anything...that way....and never have. I don't have the uhhhh....'natural inclinations' is the best way to put it. "Yes, because someone who is asexual can't POSSIBLY understand what masturbation is to know what a Five Knuckle Shuffle is." Seriously, it's funny to think that WWE still knows what the term means, but keep using it anyway.

Well, here's Hogan's comments on what his role will be: "That's a huge deal for me, man. I never thought that they would bring me in to like the Vince McMahon role with another wrestling company kind of like I did with WCW years back. I actually used to have this same role back in the day, except it was unofficial. Vince's dad ran the league while I was down here in Minnesota kicking ass with Verne Gagne and when he died, they talked me into coming back. So I came back and found that Vince McMahon, who owns the company now, didn't really understand the business. So I moved in next door to him in Connecticut and taught him all about lifting weights and riding motorcycles and partying like a mad man; and then I taught him about the wrestling business and making money. And now I'm doing that again with TNA Wrestling." blogs.citypages.com/gimmenoise/2009/11/hulkamania_inva.phpThat implies company-wide creative control, which is a bit of a scary concept. It's not even "Hogan being Hogan" that causes me to fear for TNA's future. It's taht the company's buyrates and paid attendance are so bad, that I'm not sure he can salvage them. If he does not, then it means problems for TNA, because firstly he comes at a no doubt substantial cost, and secondly it signals that nothing can improve those aspects of TNA. Neither bodes well for the company's future - and that's without even looking at the booking implications of his involvement. Except that it's not the thing that keeps them running. See, the buyrates and attendance haven't been different from what they did when they started dong the live events. It's not a radical drop you're making it out to be, really. The difference is, that's not the only income they get. They also have the merchandise they sell at show, and all the TV deals they make overseas. So, just cause those two are on the downturn doesn't mean that it's a sure sign to death. Are the overseas and merchandise the majority of their sales? Because I'd be sure they're minimal compared to a network TV deal and twelve PPVs a year.

Would've made more sense with McMahon leaving Hogan at home to collect paychecks, buuut of course, Hogan MUST have the Wrestlemania payday, no ifs ands or buts.

this will not accomplish anything. it will backfire. I will laugh. Does this count as TNA bashing? I see a lot of it in this thread. And even those of us that bash TNA have tuned in once in a while, and have little problem with the direction it looked like they were going. All this news does is make someone like me, a WWE and TNA viewer, though more in favor of WWE, palm my head. And I think I've seen a lot of TNA faithful say this is a bad idea, too.

I found it very bizarre that they'd stick Cowboy Bob in wrestling trunks just so he could walk with Randy to his car. My reaction was just "Why on earth is he not wearing pants? Is it some kind of genetic thing?". Odd. With Dusty it's not so bad cause I'll be putting him on my ECW (spent hours organizing my own WWE/WCW/ECW rosters in notepad) so him fighting in street clothes is not so bad. I suppose Million Dollar Man won't look so bad in his tux as well. I may have to create Lady Gaga so I can do a storyline where Legacy make her an honorary member... Cause she doesn't wear pants... I'll just be over by the buffet. Depending what system you have, someone already made Lady gaga and uploaded it to Xbox Live. Granted she won't be capable of editting her entrance, but it's something. Actually, that's one of my many complaints about the game. I get that you can't download someone's music when you get a CAW, but why can't we edit something about their attires or entrances?

I've only seen Hatton fight once, but GOD it was so bad, and he clinched every few other seconds. It got real annoying.
So, I imagine if he gets to wrestle, the match'll be nothing but him ducking and clinching.

...really, WWE? You picked Hatton of all people?
I'll admit, I've only seen one fight from this guy, but it felt like every two seconds he clinched his opponent. Just...egh.
But everyone else is prolly excited, right?

If we get to see Undertaker re-do his "Dirty Harry" parody from Wm21, I'm for it.

Of course he is. What more does he need to do to become HOF worthy? He's held practically every title in the company and been involved in the biggest angles. He's a top notch wrestler and performer. Being a big draw, which Triple H has never been and will never be. But then again, it's not like the Hall of Fame means anything, since it's under Vince's control and Vince's alone. If it were a legitimate Hall of Fame that was completely unbiased, I doubt Triple H would be inducted. He's been inducted into other non-WWE hall of fames. Just so you know.

So, Mickie's cheers are literally built into her entrance?] Yanno, I'm starting to think it's not just Mickie's body that's gotten overweight. Her ego seems to be going that direction also. Yanno, I doubt it's her choice Humor doesn't translate well over the internet for you, does it.

Its the same piped in chant they play for the first 2 seconds of Mickie James entrance music that her fans declare is "proof that shes more over than half the male roster" leaving out the fact she never gets cheered again. If their first encounter ends up at Survivor Series in the traditional elimination tag matches, it's not doubt Orton would win it. After all, he's pretty much won almost all of those matches (save for 2006...guh). But that's not a bad thing. Depending on the circumstances, it just means that Kofi would come close, but to no cigar, and they can continue the feud there on out with whichever direction WWE so pleases to do.

even with his US title run, it wasn't all that great. Looking at his OWW profile, his title defenses were against those otherwise delegated to jobber position, and when he did face uppermidcarders or main eventers, it was in tag action.
Things like that usually say that they really want to push Shelton as a main eventer, but he doesn't help himself to the opportunities he's given. While he was good in 2004, somehting about him never improved, and I'm not sure if it's his in-ring stuff or his mic skills.

Okay, seriously, did anyone else see that weird cut at the end of the Angle/Wolfe match? Where Angle had his back to him, and suddenly WHOA, Kurt's now facing him without even turning!
Seriously, it would've been nice to know just what I missed, or at least SHOW Kurt spinning around so it doesn't look all weird.

Along with Kizarny, Hade Vansen seemed to be a waste in WWE's eyes, but neither men were even given a chance outside of a few vignettes and a match (or in Vade's case, one vignette).
Not to mention it seemed like Kizarny was getting a following on these parts somehow, while Vade just faded out after only one vignette and was forgotten as quickly as Hirohito.
So, my question is...what happened? Why did WWE pull the trigger and then stop the bullets just as fast?

PWinsider.com The internal WWE reaction to Hulk Hogan signing with TNA was that it was a major mistake on TNA's part and that Hogan and Eric Bischoff would be out for themselves, not the promotion. There was no major sense of shock among those backstage at the Smackdown taping when the news came out. We'll see if that turns out to be the case. Why did WWE ever employ either of them post 2001, then? Seems pretty silly to say TNA signing Hogan is a major mistake when Vince keeps trying to get Hogan back for another Mania match. As far as Hogan being out for himself, maybe Vince should have just grown some balls the past two times and told him he was going to job to HBK and Orton. Assuming he feels that way, maybe he doesn't and other WWE brass do, I dunno. Either way I think it is silly of WWE to think that if true, considering they employed both of them and promoted some of their outside ventures post employment. Well, I know the first time around in 2002 Hogan wasn't allowed creative control. Outside of that, I can't say.
