You’ve made ten posts in this thread in ten hours since telling someone else to stop caring about these ratings. And yet that's more normal than the people who barely if ever post at all but will chain-like any negative post. I wouldn’t want to have to choose which one is more “normal” but both types of posters have made this forum far less enjoyable over the last couple of years.

Should have been The Lone Rangers. Putting aside the Bloodline for a second it’s great that you can now say: AIRHEADS, starting Academy Award Winner Brendan Fraser, Golden Globe Winner Steve Buscemi and Independent Spirit Award Winner Adam Sandler. Also, there’s three of them. They’re not exactly “lone”, are they??

Good strange: NXT house show at The Tower Theater in Upper Darby in 2017. Really unique setup with the fans all on one side while ring/entranceway was on the stage. Like watching a wrestling play or concert.
Bad strange: A very early days CZW show in the vacant lot behind a bar in Smyrna, Delaware. Highlights were the shocking appearance of ECW SUPERSTAR….Lou E. Dangerously and getting to see Sick Nick Mondo getting stitched up outside the bar on the way to our car.

A minor one but Mr Bob Backlund calling Diesel “Kevin Nash” on Raw in late 1994 was a shocker. I think that was the first time they used a guy’s real name like that.

I had reservations about heel Drew after his last run as a heel, but hot damn is he absolutely KILLING it It really helps he’s got personality here and isn’t just a “grrr I’m mean and evil” heel like last time. I think that’ll be a huge “what if?” to look back on when Drew’s career wraps up. He seems like a genuinely smart & funny guy with great presence and a ton of charisma, yet they’ve always booked him as these bland characters when he could have been a more positive Kevin Nash that can actually wrestle.

But that wasn't a PPV, it aired as a TV special, similar to Saturday Night's Main Event. Yeah, Royal Rumble 88 seems like it was originally booked as a SNME, then they souped up the 20 man battle royal and moved it to a Sunday afternoon. Funny enough, SNME always seemed to put their 'main attraction' in the direct middle of each show, since the last match would be airing very late on the East coast and most fans would be in bed by then. Sort of like how the original The Main Event special featured a final bout (that got cut off!) of Strike Force vs The Hart Foundation.

Was it Doug Gilbert that brought up Lawler’s rape charge and got a show thrown off the air?

Sgt Slaughter using the Death Noogie and camel clutch during his Iraqi phase.
Haku didn’t start using the Tongan Death Grip until he went to WCW.

Todd Phillips has more Academy Award nominations than Orson Welles. There really is no business like show business.

Extreme Rules 2018 Notable Other Matches: Shinske Nakamura vs Jeff Hardy for the US Championship Kevin Owens vs Braun Strowman Bobby Lashley vs Roman Reigns AJ Styles vs Rusev for the WWE Championship Ending aside...Kurt Angle vs Mark Henry at Royal Rumble 06 qualifies IMO. Idt anyone had that in their Main Event bingo card at the beginning of 2006. Kurt had Main Evented a few PPVs at the end of 2005 challenging John Cena for the WWE Championship but suddenly hes fighting for the World Heavyweight Championship against Mark Henry who just returned a month prior after missing almost 2 years and only being midcard at best all career. Angle/Henry almost assuredly went on last at the 2006 Rumble because Undertaker made the ring collapse afterward. Can't really put on any other matches if the ring falls apart. They just put caution tape around the giant hole for the two matches after Taz & Bam Bam went through the ring at Living Dangerously ‘98. You can do anything if you don’t care about worker safety!

Not so much the entire main event, and I get it was a random type of teams but it was odd to see Tito, Roma and Hercules in a main event (Survivor Series 90). Tito was probably main event on secondary house shows in the 80s but not 1990s. Early Survivor Series are sort of an outlier. You had main events with Butch Reed, Ken Patera, Hillbilly Jim and the Red Rooster.

Two immediately come to mind. I'll never get over how surprised I was by the men's WrestleMania showcase tag match from WrestleMania 39. It had no right being as good as it was. It had no build, no hype, and no expectations and turned out to be one of the most fun and exciting 8-minute car crashes I've ever seen in professional wrestling. Every single competitor in the ring gave it 100 percent and floored it from the moment the bell rang. I have no problem saying it was one of my top three matches of 2023, it was that entertaining. Everyone involved in that match deserves a TON of credit for getting a night that started off on the worst foot possible with that Cena/Theory match onto the track of “Was this the best night in company history?” that it ended up on.

Do you think he stops at construction sites and just beats the shit out of anyone that's using a jackhammer? If by “beats the shit out of”, you mean “headbutts the chain link fence surrounding the site (making himself bleed and dazing himself badly), then runs out of breath marching to the other end of the block where the site entrance is so he just goes across the street to Panera to recover”, then probably.

It’s weird that Goldberg is such a crusty veteran when his comeback nostalgia run was just about the same length as his actual career.

Outside of the demolition derby tag team ladder matches of the late 90’s/early 00’s, you can slot pretty much every beloved Edge match in here as my answer.
