It's a good point that TNA could have gone for something different in Ron Killings... he was over. However, TNA went from alternative to slightly cheap copy somewhere near the end of 2006/beginning of 2007... and has just continued to flounder on.
I remember thinking in 2006 after ONS:2 and Hard Justice that wrestling was ready for a new boom period. I thought so wrong... like Mendenhall tweeting wrong.

I really don't like how they change the camera view right in the middle of the implant buster. It's like the most basic of TV wrestling hide the illusion tricks... camera switch in the middle makes it harder to pick up on the tricks of the biz.

Yes, cause any of us would kick one of those ladies out bed for not having a equally amazing behind as the one we prefer.
Needs more pics for my viewing pleasure.

If TNA would pay me in Makers Mark and hookers... I guarantee I could put out a better product than they have now. Despite spending 95% of my time being drunk and sleeping with hookers.. that other 5% (approximately 48 minutes a day), I could still come up with something people would actually want to see and fill a 2 hour show a week.
I get hookers and Makers Mark. You get a better wrestling program.

I went to HS with Serena...never talked to her, but a bunch of my friends are still friends with her. A few months ago they all went out for drinks in the DC suburb area we all went to school at. Apparently she told one of my friends a certain egomaniac told her she could keep her job, if she got on all fours and begged for her job. No idea if it's true, but I find it funny

On one point here...... There's a massive difference in a company resoundingly beating the other financially and having the ability to purchase them. If WCW was so much of a burden and shame to Turner Broadcasting, and was so mis-managed...what's to say that if WCW would even have the oppertunity to buy the then WWF? In 96? Yeah Turner would have done anything for WCW with those ratings. Even parts of 97. Turner would have done it to hurt his competition in cable more than anything, but he loved his wrasslin.

If you subscribe to the SS97 was a work theory... there's a side theory which involves Vince knowing he was on the edge of bankruptcy. Out of loyalty to Bret for so many years of service, he told him the truth and that if WCW got wind of it, he would not receive the same offer so he should take it as soon as possible.
Basically, the only reason WCW wanted Bret was to hurt the WWF. If they're going bankrupt, you can offer Bret chump change after the fact.

Because he doesn't want to? Why would anyone who is making millions in Hollywood need to do it? The only reason he would wrestle is because he wanted to... he obviously doesn't. I'm sure his knees are still not great, and he knows just like every other wrestler that anything can go wrong when you step in the ring. The steps you take walking into a body slam could very well end up being the last steps you ever take.
Don't complain that he's not wrestling, be grateful that he's letting you relive a great character from another era for a few months.

Also, I had a crazy baseball coach that owned a card shop... and that spring he was giving away all the XFL cards he had to us as "rewards" for doing well
I wish I would have saved my He Hate Me.

Ah man the XFL inspired me and my friend's favorite game in high school. Pillow Ball.
It started off as a 1 off copy of the XFL "coin toss" with a huge pile of couch cushions and pillows to prevent injury. Then we started hiding the ball in the pillows so you basically had two guys crashing into the pile and the ball would go flying. Which then evolved into multiple piles and a more strategic game evolved.
It was the best game ever, somehow no one got injured, and it's all because of the XFL. Thank you XFL.

@shawnemerriman if you could get to a QB as fast as you ran after our divas maybe you'd make headlines being a pro bowler and not a creep.`

Dammit Sting just retire already.
Why? So I can finally stop watching pro-wrestling. Every time you return, I get sucked back in for a year or so.

I like it. One of those little touches that helps the realism of pro-wrestling.

Wasn't there report awhile back that Shawn and Hunter were expected to take over the front office and run things? With Hunter getting the office, I have a feeling Shawn's getting close to getting his office job.

Not nearly as great or emotional as the Edge/Flair TLC for the Title... but it was interesting enough to have me tune to watch for the first time in months.

Bahahahaha. Really? This is the worst argument to have with someone who doesn't watch wrestling because in all honesty, they can easily win this argument. "Two nearly naked men that often grasp each other and lay on the mat with each other... and it's not fighting, it's pretending."
Plus ol' Mr. Hickenbottom didn't help the argument with the Playgirl spread. A magazine that according to the great Mr. Ron Jeremy is more for the homosexual market than the female.

I find it a little timing friendly that they did this right as the EV2 angle is dieing down.

Things will stay the same for as long as she's running for re-election if she wins. So basically until she loses... don't a more adult subject matter.
But I wouldn't be surprised if she won to see the DoJ or State of Connecticut launch an investigation into the independent contractor issue.. and if it takes a McMahon getting elected to the Senate, something that scares me to death, I will be glad to see it happen.

TNA Haters last week " This is terrible. You know Nowinski goes nuts over this and that will prove it's a terrible idea" TNA Haters this week "uh uhh... he obviously doesn't know exactly what they did so I'm much more an authority on this so I'm going to ignore his statements"
