I'm so glad I didn't watch wrestling as soon as Vince bought WCW. I just stopped. Started again in 05 and got to miss this.
From what I gather, the only good thing I missed during the invasion was Heyman's worked shoot on Vince which I've got to see on Youtube.

Even if the matches weren't that great... As a 10 year old kid watching ECW for 4 or 5 years before it went under through Hardcore TV, ECW on TNN and PPV.. following on the internet when I couldn't see those..
Reliving that nostalgic era at the age of 20 10 years later.. that PPV meant more than WrestleMania, more than Star Cade... That to me was reliving my childhood as a wrestling fan where I became so attached to the characters it created... that I still love and admire.
It was just fun.

If it wasn't for that PPV, I wouldn't be watching wrestling still. I hadn't watched wrestling since WCW folded.
But then one day I happened to be checking my old AOL account and I was still subscribed to some newsletter talking about it and it got me excited. So I ordered the PPV and remembered what I loved about wrestling. However, these days.. I wish it never happened.

If someone is going to end it... Randy Orton will be the one probably.
However, I'm sure there will be some involvement of Kane and Paul Bearer.

These are both awesome commercials...
The Stinger one was hillarious.

If the nWo had a real payoff with either Sting or Goldberg disbanding the nWo by beating Hogan in a rematch for the World Title saying "If I can't beat you, brother, the nWo is no more..." then it would've been fine. You could've had the Wolfpac form without the nWo and just have Hall, Nash and Savage in there as a face group. With Hogan realizing he has no friends left... he's now a loner without the man power.
The real reason though the nWo was never disbanded was because that T-shirt made WCW a lot of money. Plain and simple.

Wolfpacs back causing mass destruction...
yeah.. instead of giving us a big nWo is destroyed payoff... we got another nWo... and another... then another.
God damn it was so stupid.

I used to get this on some local channel at like 6PM on Tuesdays in DC's Virginia suburbs.
I was playing little league I remember so I was like 10 or 11 which would've put this around 1996. I was the only person I knew that got it or knew of it.

My favorite are already in here...
Flair/Michaels. You knew it was coming however the way they did the match you still believed the old timer was gonna pull it off. Van Dam winning the World Title at ONS.

I miss June 2006 - November 2007 . The New Breed vs Originals feud was so good, its a shame that only one from each side is left now... ones a commentator... and the other is fat. That was a fun feud.. plus it led to the unthinkable... Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Van Dam, and the Sandman getting a WrestleMania victory. Man, I really miss Sabu in WWE.. especially the beginning where he was motivated and pushed. It was just fun seeing him do his thing there.

Quick, name one great Dudleys match. And notice how said match not stunt-show, so the TLCs are out. 3D vs MCMG from about 11 months ago was really, really good. But of course, MCMG will get all the credit for that on here. Dudleys vs RVD and Sabu

Btw, just a small clarification on all the copyright talk.. we're talking Trademark law, not copyright law. Copyright would refer to a performance, a piece of work... ie a song, a case study, a video taped performance. Trademark covers brand names, character names, etc.

Ric Flair should've been 1 - 10. I dunno Flair still produced at least 3 really good matches that I can remember in his last two years in the WWE. Flair/HBK Retirement Flair/Edge TLC for World Title Flair/HHH Steel Cage

Fair use..
In Campbell v. Acuff-Rose Music, Inc.[15] Supreme Court recognized parody as a fair use, even when done for profit. Roy Orbison's publisher, Acuff-Rose Music Inc., had sued 2 Live Crew in 1989 for their use of Orbison's "Oh, Pretty Woman" in a mocking rap version with altered lyrics. The Supreme Court viewed 2 Live Crew's version as a ridiculing commentary on the earlier work, and ruled that when the parody was itself the product rather than used for mere advertising, commercial sale did not bar the defense.
Even if for profit...
Can we end this thread now? WWE's lawyers are smart enough to know that fair use protects parody and that there's no way they can sue over a parodied character that has similar mannerisms, but is done strictly in parody.
By the way... the WWF may have done this before at some point...

I see Flair hopping over to ROH with the HDNet thing now if he's going to be a mentor type position.

Ya know.. this is true Russo.. while this may be a fun and exciting episode and Russo will get a nice pat on the back for it, he has no way to top it or continue on a mess like this.
It's like the old Daffy Duck cartoon where he goes to circus promoter to say he has the greatest trick ever, but there's a catch. He climbs a 100 foot ladder and gets dynamite teeth. Lights them on fire... jumps into a tiny pool of water...which explodes. The promoter is excited and offering money like crazy. Daffy then floats up from the pool and the promoter wants to sign him... "There's only one catch... I can only do it once."

This has Russo written all over it.
Did the TNA video game have "Fire Russo" chants in it? I'll buy it if it does.

It's funny because the word employee used to describe a wrestler in the WWE will only ever be used in this angle.

I imagine a protest outside of the closing office with people chanting "You Screwed Jeff" referring to a popular employee who made many friends in the area. And Earl Hebner just happening to walk by with everyone blaming him.
