From Scottish Pro Wrestling Press Release from Scottish Papers: SPW Press Release 6/7/11 Scottish Professional wrestling, who have run family friendly wrestling events around the region since 2008 and have created talents that now wrestle all over the UK, are proud to announce that long-term SPW Heavyweight Champion James 'Darkside' Scott, who lives in Dumfries after a move from the central belt last year, has signed with world renowned Japanese promotion Zero-1. Created in 2001 Zero-1 Pro Wrestling, runs weekly tv shows in Japan and is the countrys answer to the USA's World Wrestling Entertainment. They have quickly built a repuation as a proving ground for the upcoming top talent in world wrestling and SPW Owner Paul Geddes feels that James 'Darkside' Scott will do just fine in the competitive world of Japanese strong-style "Puroresu" (Pro Wrestling). "James is a perfect fit for Japanese wrestling, hes always admired the Japanese strong style and its a lifes dream come true for him. James is the closest thing that the UK has to a Japanese styled wrestler. His style, athletic prowess and natural ability has been wowing crowds all over Europe for years now and its high time the big leagues came calling. Wrestling stars all over Asia will be quaking in thier boots when they see the impact that SPW Champion James Scott will have in Zero-1 Wrestling". James Scott will begin his first full time tour in Japan at the end of July and will be reporting to the Zero-1 Wrestling Dojo in Tokyo, thankfully we can all look forward to regular returns to the UK to wrestle for Scottish Pro Wrestling in Dumfries and across Scotland and defending his SPW Heavyweight Championship in the future. ---------------- Maybe the odd embelishment here or there but gotta make the papers listen! So yet another of our talents signs up to a featured promotion. Good times for talent in the UK! Heres a highlight video of James Scott in action:

This is one thing that disgusts me about American sports, that they move "franchises". Its shouldn't be a damn franchise. Over here and im sure in many US cities/towns, a sports team can be a real source of passion and the heartbeat of the town. The one thing that unites many in that one place. To move a majorly supported football team in Scotland or England, hell, Europe, would all but get you lynched.

Sin Cara has had exactly ONE MATCH on TV. This thread is beyond ridiculous. Don't forget about Kizarny. One battle royal, one match, gone. Braden Walker only got 2 matches. WWE has just about ZERO patience nowadays. A new regime is in charge of talent now. Mistico is a far better worker than either of those two and will bring in the hispanic audience that have maybe tuned out of WWE. Also, the severance package needed to get rid of Mistico would be significant. On top of all that, Misticos debut has went just fine. He sold Primos slip on the ropes on RAW Monday night... WOW! His entrance hasn't actually gone wrong yet either. God i hate newz sites and smark opinions sometimes.

Id love to see the series also make a transfer to WII (preferably Xbox and PS3 too but that aint gonna happen). The Pokemon RPG games would kick ass on a higher spec console and the opportunity for expansion on an already immersive game is huge.

Worst: Oasis, felt like they had just put a cd on with lesser quality vocals. Most Surprisingly Decent: System of a Down Best: Muse, with ease.

She was a uber heel, why do people need a send off? It should be saved for big time faces only.

i know it's not anyone's business, but I wonder what happened with Tiffany. I mean she made everything public, and then disappeared. It's like watching a trainwreck of a story unfold, and not getting the resolution. Divorce? Re conciliated? The real story of Chavo jerking in the gym and telling Drew. So many unanswered questions. Nothing actually happend that night, it was newz sites dragging all the entrials out of the corpse that they could.

Ridiculous question. What did us UK fans watch for during the attitude era and even now? We watch the product. Its not like sports teams where you might watch your favourite team and not many or any others.

It's interesting...people on the 'net say he's below average in the ring, but other wrestlers often say he's the best. Thing with Orton is, he "gets" it. Even alot of top wrestlers just don't quite get it until one day it clicks. Orton is a magnificent worker, everything is worked into his matches with a purpose and his greatness will be remembered when all is said and done. He has improved hugely over the last few years. He doesn't work the most exciting style, he's old school but he is incredibly talented.

While these 2 guys are blatant idiots and complete new era marks, they touch upon a couple of little points on Sting. He is within the category of guys that love to toot thier own horn and and very self righteous. Fact is that these days Sting just isn't that good anymore and his star will also never be as bright as it maybe could and should have been if he doesn't work for Vince. He 's doing himself a massive injustice by not breaking away from the televised indys since the demise of WCW. He could cement a legacy by working even just one match. I don't think it would be a great match at this point in both mens careers, I also feel Sting is a hugely over rated worker, but, that wouldn't be the the point of the match. This would be pure spectacle and is one of the few Dream Matches that could truly draw, at least with old school and attitude era fans. Frankly, his "pride" of being the one man not to need Vince is ridiculous and he will be forgotten entirely by all except a generation should he not do it at some point very soon. His legacy deserves it. His excuse for not going was apparently that he doesn't feel that WWE would handle the gimmick properly... how about no... Im pretty sure Vince would be happy to hand almost all creative direction of the fued and match to both Taker and Sting, this match will draw and with the money it could help bring in. Vince wouldn't really care all that much tbh. If that is Stings genuine reason the he's more stupid than afraid.

- The shaking hands thing is done everywhere.
- Japanese Kickpads thing i think is just falsehood, never ever heard that one.
- Another one that counts for anywhere is never use a move (signatures and finishes) that will be used by another higher on the card. This is akin to someone like Zack Ryder using a spin-out powerbomb when Cena is higher up on the card... doing this will result in mucho heato!
- I've heard and adhere to the calling a worker by thier gimmick unless they introduce themselves as thier real name (Edge saying something like "Hey, Im Adam, good to meet you". I actually came across a rather hilarious moment a year or so back at a show I was on featuring Bret Hart involving a trainee calling Abyss, Chris, and Kevin Thorn chewing his face off for it.
- Over here in the UK, its all respect based and it's usually just a fun, happy and family like atmosphere. Though I do undertand from some of the lads i've talked to in WWE that the locker room is very daunting at first and most guys will cross one of the big guys at some point in the early days. Its all just good banter and maintaining order within the group.

They don't matter at all really. Your only ever as good and as over as your last match/showing. Things like this are rememberd and cared about by a select few, the fans that matter, the marks, couldn't care less down the line.
